Our talented team has been hard at work sharing their insights, and we’re thrilled to announce that two compelling op-eds written by our staff have just been published! Firstly, Yuhan Zhang of The Conference Board of Asia dives into China’s 2025 stimulus plans and emphasizes the need for broader economic reforms to reignite growth. Secondly, ESF Center leader Maria Demertzis argues that Europe’s failure to fully integrate its single market imposes a far bigger cost on businesses than any tariffs from the new US administration. ✨ Check them out here: Beyond quick stimulus, China needs deeper, more fundamental reforms: t.ly/ZDkG- South China Morning Post SCMP Le coût pour les entreprises des « tarifs » intérieurs de l’Europe: t.ly/zeu_k l'Opinion

For all the talk about the harm of global tariffs and trade wars, the EU could gain much more by completing the Single Market. Internal barriers to trade in manufacturing impose costs that are equivalent to a 45% tariff, while in the US the equivalent is three times lower. In services, barriers to trade generate costs that are equivalent to a 110% tariff. Ready my latest piece.

Our researchers Ioannis Siskos Minji Xie, and Alexander Heil, PhD dive into this topic in our latest paper: Charging Ahead: Is India's EV Adoption Plan a Model for the Developing World? https://hubs.li/Q033gVjh0 The Conference Board
