We have low and high pressure testing to carry out with various parameters, such as not exceeding 500psi on the low, moving continuously from the low to a high test in one movement etc. What are we actually doing while testing the WCE online, are we just confirming nothing has changed since the pre-deployment testing and adjusting to the new environment? The "Drill Baby Drill" was a slogan from the rotary table, a war cry in 2018 which should have said "Drill Baby Drill ourselves out of a job"as that's what it did, and subsequently cratered the Industry for a period. Now its become a political term that most who chant it don't have a clue and would not know the business end of a drill bit if it landed on their front lawn. The Point: So what lies ahead current rig rates are stagnant and the rig count has continued to drop since November 2024. The green new deal is most definitely under pressure now globally as economies pivot towards one of a war stance. The UK will quickly need to make up its mind on what's good for the economy and sorry to say it but windmills and solar panels will not provide the feedstocks required to rearm a new fighting force. We have only addressed drilling wells, how do hydrates affect subsea production wellheads etc? Be happy to hear of any experiences good and bad from hydrates forming around the locking mechanisms of all types of connectors. As we know Hydrates can really ruin your day or week, after spending weeks jarring, spotting hot pills, Hi-velocity pumping from Red Neck Accumulators via ROV to pumping Ethanol down the hotline (yes you read that correctly-it worked) and in one case shearing 9 pistons on the H4 connector rest assured Hydrates and connecting that PITA glycol injection tubing to the connector will ruin your day and even could lose your well or parts of your BOP to those pretty crystals forming under your Lower Stack Base Plate.
