On International Women’s Day, and every day, Bahamas First is committed to investing in women and fostering an environment where women are not only present, but actively empowered and valued.

Powerful female voices from diverse sectors of the community joined the women of Bahamas First on Friday 8 March 2024 as the company hosted its ‘First Ladies Luncheon’ in observance of International Women’s Day. The one-day interactive meeting, held at the company’s Collins Avenue headquarters, was designed to highlight the unique perspectives and contributions of Bahamian women from all walks of life. Headliners Judith Whitehead, KC, veteran attorney and Managing Partner of Graham Thompson Attorneys, and Phylicia Woods-Hanna, Director of Investments in the Bahamas Investment Authority, both challenged conventional ideas about women’s leadership, while highlighting the critical role it plays in building a progressive society. In addition to the renowned keynotes, attendees heard from experts in entrepreneurship, interpersonal relationships, environmental sustainability, travel and women’s health.
