The team at ABC’s Windsor Tooling Technical Center (Windsor Mold Group) today welcomed The Right Honourable Prime Minister Mark Carney of Canada, members of local parliament from Windsor and Essex, and a representative from the Automotive Parts Manufacturers' Association (APMA) Canada to its facility where the group was taken on a plant tour and had the chance to learn about plastic injection mold tooling and meet/address ABC teammates. The WTTC employs 180 colleagues consisting of business professionals, engineers, machinists and skilled trade toolmakers. #WorldWaterDay (March 22) recognizes the impact water conservation and recycling plays in our world, including within the automotive industry as it shifts toward more sustainable products and practices. ABC has made voluntary commitments in its business to reach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6, which states that everyone should have access to sanitation and clean water by 2030. ABC is a member of the UN Global Compact.   We have taken meaningful steps to lessen water consumption through innovation, improved processes, and employee participation via awareness, education and involvement. Our manufacturing plants are also doing their part by adding softeners at cooling towers, installing faucet sprays aerators, and conducting leakage investigations. Actions such as these helps protect the invaluable water resource we collectively share on this planet and makes us realize that every drop counts!
