We want to connect them to the latest technologies and solutions to ensure that they can positively transform agriculture and impact our food systems. We are excited to announce that through a distribution agreement together with Acadian Plant Health™ BASF has now expanded its BioSolutions portfolio to include a new climate-resilient solution, biostimulants derived from seaweed. Biostimulants are substances or microorganisms that have the ability to enhance crop growth, improve stress tolerance and maintain marketable yield. Seaweed is an incredibly versatile resource. It's used in food, feed additives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and more. But it’s also a powerful tool for farmers, helping to drive more climate-resilient farming. Biostimulants derived from seaweed can enhance crop growth, improve stress tolerance, and help maintain marketable yields. Together with Acadian Plant Health™, we are bringing biostimulant solutions to farmers as part of our BioSolutions portfolio. BASF Agricultural Solutions already distributes EliteSea biostimulants in Italy, Spain, and Turkey, with more EMEA countries preparing the launch, pending approval. Through our expanded partnership with Acadian, BASF will now also distribute a newly developed, unique abiotic stress management portfolio globally for more climate-smart agriculture. This World Food Day brings to light how everyone should have access to diverse, nutritional, affordable and safe food. But harvest and storage can be hard on fruit and vegetables; they can lose some of their quality and nutritional value. In a study on the nutritional content of spinach, Acadian technology was shown to significantly reduce the loss of fresh weight and improve visual quality during storage, which suggested reduced stress and retained nutritional value.
