Anthem Entertainment reposted this
Apparently you can go home again in business 🏠 It's pretty emotional day as we've finally completed the process of acquiring back the company I founded way back in 2008. Today, Slipstream Music has acquired the production music businesses from Anthem Entertainment -- this includes Cavendish Music, 5 Alarm Music, and of course Jingle Punks. It started as an idea over a year and a half ago when my co-founder Jesse Korwin and I took a trip to LA during Grammy week to checkin with our old friends and owners at Anthem (Jason Klein, Sal Fazzari CPA, CA). I never imagined the amount of work and time we'd invest into something based on a conversation we had during that trip. I’ve had so many people guide and mentor me along the way, helping navigating the fundraising and structuring of this deal. Lawrence Kennedy was gracious enough to entertain more than afew bad ideas and make some amazing intros. There was a lot of "no's" along the way -- I think I pitched this over 150 times. Too complicated. Too late. Too early. AI risk. Not a VC play. Not a PE deal. But eventually we found the right partners with Pollen Street Capital. They shared our vision of modernizing the production music business in the face consolidating media companies, shrinking budgets, and of course the specter of AI. We're going to innovate and build through this, leveraging more than 650,000 songs to create the largest independent production music platform. We have three of the best, most respected brands in space as a foundation now. The industry is long overdue for innovation and change and Slipstream Music is leading the way. There is much more news to come from us as we enter a new exciting chapter as Jesse Korwin and I continue to make our vision of Slipstream come into focus! 🎶 🙏 Imri Eisner, Keith Hamlin, Michael Katramados, CFA, Connor Marshall-Mckie, Mads Mellbye, Angus Mcgregor 🙏
