Critical topics shaping our industry were center stage this year at the Urban Transformation Summit, and we were proud to join the World Economic Forum community in San Francisco for inspiring dialogue on the work ahead for cities and urban spaces. Mark E. Rose, Chair and CEO, joined a panel discussion on emerging strategies for climate resilience in cities -- highlighting the intentional alignment needed between short-term incentives and long-term interests. More on this here: https://lnkd.in/eXEFiwcv Eime Tobari, Global Director of Urban Development, brought public and private sector leaders together for a strategy session on emerging partnership models for delivering social value in urban development. More on this here: https://lnkd.in/e8M3Trdh We recently announced the Social Value Playbook, the result of a task force of partners focused on urban transformation. Exciting to see the inspiring conversations happening at the World Economic Forum Urban Transformation Summit! Tackling the challenges of climate change requires all of us - businesses, community leaders, and public officials - to come together and align our efforts. We’re reminded that while transformative projects can be tough, honest dialogue and collaboration pave the way for innovative solutions – keeping our communities at the heart of our efforts as we work to reshape our world for the better! The Social Value Playbook identifies key principles real estate partners, investors, builders, and city leaders can use to create better social value and outcomes in urban development: https://lnkd.in/dBSVu5eN
An inspiring kickoff at the World Economic Forum Urban Transformation Summit in San Francisco. Joined by panelists Mmamoloko Nkhensani Kubayi (Minister of Human Settlements, South Africa), Fernando Margain (Chief of Staff, City of Monterrey), Lauren Sorkin-Yeo (ED, Resilient Cities Network), and moderated by Antonio Gomez-Palacio, we had an impactful conversation centered on how world-leading businesses, community leaders and public officials can take meaningful action to address the growing challenges posed by climate change. My takeaways: ⦿ Long-term interests and short-term incentives need to be aligned, and this requires intentionality and a place-based approach that all stakeholders work toward ⦿ Transformative projects are difficult, and political cycles can impede progress ⦿ Honest, transparent dialogue will help us solve complex problems, build trust across public and private partners, and unlock critical investment ⦿ Solutions abound (now more than ever!) and we have the chance to reshape the landscape while keeping communities at the forefront #WEF #AYdifference

Meet Karine Kasongo a dedicated member of ROOTS, our ERG focused on making a real difference for our Black professionals. ROOTS is all about creating an inclusive community where everyone’s voice matters, helping us build a stronger, more connected workplace. By supporting and empowering our Black professionals, we aim to create an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and has the opportunity to thrive. "ROOTS was founded on the principle of embracing our history from different perspectives, countries, and challenges, and coming together to celebrate the rich diversity of the Black diaspora. Just as a tree draws strength from its roots and extends upwards, we look to our past to nurture our future." -- Arlene Dedier, Chair, ROOTS 🌳 Together, the group provides vital resources, mentorship, and growth opportunities, paving the way for our Black professionals and the future of our company. Diverse teams don’t just drive innovation, creativity, and growth -- they make us better! And the real magic happens when everyone feels included, valued, and safe. So that’s the next level we’re chasing. 🙌 Our Empower ERG is building a culture where everyone thrives, with a specific focus on providing opportunities for women, who have been historically underrepresented in #CRE. Magdalene Marvin Segal said it best: “Success means being transparent about inequalities, embracing intersectionality, and shaping a workplace that’s free from harassment and bias.” That’s the kind of environment we’re building because it’s not just about attracting great talent -- it’s about keeping people who reflect the values we truly believe in as an inclusive employer. We're proud to be part of a team that’s driving the future of urban regeneration. Last December, we teamed up with the World Economic Forum to establish the Social Value in Urban Regeneration Taskforce. What does that mean? We’re working to create a comprehensive set of principles for public and private stakeholders involved in transforming cities. From Phoenix to Boston to Bristol, our global collaborations aim to build urban spaces that genuinely uplift our communities! With the recent launch of the Social Value Playbook, we now have a practical guide for real estate partners, investors, builders, and city leaders to enhance social impact and create better outcomes. We've been shining a light on some of our amazing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) which play an important role in our workplace culture and employee satisfaction. These groups are truly the heartbeat 🤍 of our organisation, helping us attract incredible, diverse talent. Our ERGs are our not-so-secret way to bring our supportive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture to life. As Pamela Mazza, EdM HR, CCEP shares, "Embracing diversity and inclusion has always been at the heart of our culture because it not only enriches our workplace and helps people feel like they belong 🤗, it also fuels ideas and innovation for our business and our clients." Our ERGs have been on a ride of self-discovery through workshops and team-ups, leading to a fresh new look that captures all their hopes, dreams, and unique identities! Curious to see what all the fuss is about? Check out our newly rebranded ERGs: https://ow.ly/Qyrl50TJh6K #DiversityAwarenessMonth #AY2023ImpactReport #AYdifference 📸: Hannah Yoon | Women Photograph

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we reflect on an essential aspect of our professional lives: mental wellbeing in the workplace. We know that when we care for ourselves, we unlock the best versions of who we are -- for our families, our colleagues, and our clients. It’s not about simply working less but creating a space where our mental health is a priority. This balance allows us to thrive, reduce stress, and avoid burnout. It’s an act of strength to step back, reflect, and say, “I need a moment.” And that’s okay. We're encouraging everyone, including our teammates, to join the important conversations hosted by the World Health Organization. With so much happening in the world today, prioritizing our mental wellbeing has never been more important. Let's come together, listen, and lift each other up. 💛 #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters #PeopleMatter
