  • Bunt Vancouver’s Annual Pitch & Putt Tournament was in full swing last Thursday. We met up at Stanley Park for some good laughs, healthy competition, and rightful bragging before meeting for some post-putting refreshments. 🏌️⛳ 𝐀 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬’ 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬: 🕳️ With the lowest individual score, Paul took home the honorary blue jacket (first presented many moons ago). He also took home the longest putt award. 🕳️ Amanda, Caitlyn, Joseph and Paul were presented with the coveted team plaque for having the lowest average team score. 🕳️ A shoutout to Abbey who not only took home the ‘Closest to the Pin’ award, but hit several whopper shots, impressing us all! A big thanks to our Social Committee for organizing yet another terrific team outing! #PitchandPutt #TeamEvent #StanleyPark

  • It was all systems go for the last weekend of the Calgary Stampede. On Friday, our Calgary and Edmonton offices joined forces and set off to the rodeo. The stunning weather, the thrilling atmosphere, the unmatched energy – is it any wonder our Prairies team had an unforgettable time? 🐎   Our Bunters enjoyed connecting in person, checking out some of the downtown Stampede festivities, and seeing the spectacular recently opened #BMOCentre full of life – a major expansion project that our Calgary office watched unfold from just two blocks away. With an unbelievable 1.5 million people walking through the #StampedePark gates over the 10 days of the event, it’s very exciting to think about what else is in store for the city now that the BMO Centre is officially open, and with the adjacent proposed 18,000+ seat Calgary Event Centre soon to follow.   ‘Til next time! 🤠   #CalgaryStampede #Stampede2024

Another fantastic UDI Okanagan event took place this month, and Erin Tattrie, RSE, AScT from our Kelowna office took the opportunity to attend. The Penticton Development Tour provided not only a great networking opportunity, but a comfortable and scenic chartered bus ride that consisted of various site visits around some distinct developments in the City of Penticton. 📍🗺️   Site visits included: ➡️ A SNFLWR site under industrial redevelopment ➡️ The Beach House (by Randolph Pratt and Mark Melissen) which is set to be a game changer for the Penticton waterfront ➡️ Sokana (by Kerkhoff Develop Build) where attendees learned about battling through adversity with various provincial changes ➡️ A fantastic rental building by Mission Group ➡️ Innovation District (by Stryke & Tien Sher) which presents an exciting community-first vision   What a great opportunity to learn about the residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects that are contributing to the vision of the dynamic city of Penticton. Our Kelowna office is excited to witness ongoing progress and developments in the months ahead.

  • When summer is here and the sun is shining bright, that means one thing's for certain for our Vancouver office – a leisurely group bike ride around Stanley Park. 🚲   It wasn’t the first, and most certainly won’t be the last, and we’re super excited for many more gatherings over the summer months. In fact, it was back to Stanley Park we went yesterday for our annual Pitch & Putt outing (stay tuned, photos coming soon 📷).   As always, we’re grateful for the multi-modal transportation infrastructure that ensures the safety and well-being of road users, and we’re proud of our involvement in transportation projects where safety and equity is at the forefront. #TeamActivity #BikeRide #StanleyPark

It’s safe to say that the 2024 Active Transportation Summit, hosted by BC Cycling Coalition and supported by BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, was a huge success. This jam-packed two-day conference brought together many of the best bicycle planners, engineers, government leaders, academics, industry experts and non-profits to discuss and expand on current thinking on this interesting topic. Bunt’s Tyler Thomson, Erin Tattrie, and Sophie Renard, were delighted to attend and get involved in constructive, collaborative conversations around the future of active transportation in BC. They joined in on some interactive walking and cycling tours and insightful information and networking sessions, where the importance of the work we all do in making contributions towards active transportation within our communities was positively reinforced.    We’re excited to continue building on this momentum and to attend future more events where active transportation is front of mind. 🚲🚶🛴   #activetransportation #atsummit #letskeepmoving

  • Once again, Bunt & Associates was proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the University of Victoria (UVic) Annual Civil Engineering Industry Night, held on June 20 and hosted by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering UVic Student Chapter.   Representing the Bunt team and delighted to be in attendance were Hana Stoer, EIT and Kieran Quan, EIT, who are both previous graduates from UVic’s Civil Engineering program. Hana and Kieran had the opportunity to meet with up-and-coming engineering talent, share their own experiences, and provide insight to Bunt’s diverse projects in #transportationengineering and planning. Since 2018, Bunt has successfully hired students from UVic through their Co-op Program – some of whom have returned as permanent employees following graduation – including Hana and Kieran.   The 2024 Industry Night was engaging and informative, and we’re looking forward to more events in the future that allow us to build connections with the wonderful community of #civilengineering talent (and maybe even future colleagues!).

  • A huge congratulations to Bunt’s Amanda Reale, who has officially earned her P.Eng. designation and is now registered with EGBC and PEO. 👏👏👏   Amanda joined Bunt & Associates in 2022, and since doing so, has continued to demonstrate her dedication and expertise – making valuable contributions to many of Bunt’s projects and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients along the way. There’s no question that Amanda will continue to be successful throughout her career as a transportation engineer.   Amanda’s message speaks for itself: “As a woman in a male dominated field, it means a great deal to me to achieve this milestone. I am extremely grateful to the many engineers I’ve worked with for their mentorship and guidance. As engineers, we get to be a part of creating something that will be a lasting legacy in our communities, and that is an opportunity I do not take for granted. Being an engineer is constant learning and growth, and I am excited for what is to come.”   Well done, Amanda; we couldn’t be more proud, and we’re looking forward to supporting your continued growth! #ProfessionalEngineer #TransportationEngineer
