CME's much-anticipated red tape and regulatory barriers report - Regulate Better, Grow Faster - was released this morning. More than 300 manufacturers answered the call for input and the results show that Canada is caught up in a crisis of red tape that is blocking manufacturing growth. What's more, Canada’s regulatory problems are getting worse: 71% of manufacturers said regulations have become more burdensome over the last three years, and 77% indicated that if regulatory compliance costs were reduced, they would reallocate the savings to capital improvements such as plant expansions, facility upgrades, and new equipment. In other words, red tape is impeding business investment that would improve manufacturing productivity. Read the full report and see CME's recommendations here: https://lnkd.in/g2iAkUs3 Thank you to our partners EY and Food, Health & Consumer Products of Canada FHCP.

✨ Reflecting on a Successful Week in Mexico City! Last week, Dennis Darby P.Eng., ICD.D had the opportunity to represent Canadian Manufacturers at the North Capital Forum in Mexico City last week. Engaging with business and political leaders from across North America was a powerful reminder of the strength of our manufacturing partnerships. At the centre of discussions was the future of the CUSMA/USMCA/TMEC and how deeper North American integration is key to competing globally. Delegates and speakers alike explored opportunities to strengthen regional ties, address supply chain challenges, and position manufacturers for long-term success. On behalf of the team at CME, thank you to partners at CONCAMIN (CONFEDERACIÓN DE CÁMARAS INDUSTRIALES, MÉXICO) for their hospitality and hosting efforts throughout this important week. Together, we are laying the foundation for an even more integrated and resilient manufacturing sector in North America. Special thank you to CONCAMIN president Alejandro Malagón, Mark Richardson, Julie Poirier, Graeme C Clark and so many more who made this week productive and memorable for all. 📅 Looking ahead to November, we are excited to host the 2nd annual North American Manufacturing Conference in Ottawa, where these critical conversations will continue. Stay tuned for more details! #NorthCapitalForum #USMCA #MexicoCity #Manufacturing
