Our first Tech Talk of the Fall 2024 series! >>Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. EDT This presentation will illustrate the creation of computational fluid dynamics-based simulations (and assisted with AI) by using a high-performance computing and physical experiments at Western University’s windEEE Research Facilities. Attendees will be introduced conceptually to synoptic and non-synoptic wind systems and will be shown typical workflows for experimental and computational design wind load evaluation. The webinar will be presented by Girma Bitsuamlak, Director of the WindEEE Research Facilities and Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at Western University. Currently, Dr. Bistuamlak’s team is actively working on modeling of (i) extreme wind effects (e.g., hurricane and tornado) on civil infrastructure and (ii) interplay between aerodynamics and other micro-climate stressors. Register here: https://lnkd.in/g2hMFwBd (Registration ends @ 10:00 a.m. EDT on September 18) NOTE: Registration for this Tech Talk webinar is free for CSCE members in good standing (renewed/joined for 2024), $25 (+ applicable taxes) for non-members. PDH certificates will be available for verified attendees.
