Hone was pleased to introduce its forthcoming hydrogen power service to generator operators and other film industry professionals at the Ontario Green Screen OGS Electric Generator Training Workshop at Pinewood Toronto Studios this past weekend. “Genny Ops” are responsible for overseeing the generation and distribution of power to all equipment on film & TV production sets, so that the cast and crew can do their jobs. Our own David Hardy led the discussion on hydrogen systems with Ry Smith and Bob Oliver sharing their deep technical expertise. Participants asked great questions on topics ranging from safety to logistics. 🚶♀️ Sally Carefoot has been hitting her daily step count this week, walking the show floor at Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe! It's been a pleasure for #Ekona to co-exhibit with some of the Canadian contingent, including Change Energy, Powertech Labs Inc., Ontario Tech University, GH Power, EnergyLink International, and the Canadian Hydrogen Association (CHA). 🙏 Interestingly, #HTE2024 has been co-located with Carbon Capture Technology Expo Europe, a conference about carbon capture's role in decarbonising heavy industry and the important combination of #CCS and #hydrogen in the transition to a carbon-dioxide-neutral energy supply. Ekona’s solution doesn’t require CO2 sequestration for #GHG mitigation – our platform uses pulsed combustion and high-speed gas dynamics to split natural gas into clean hydrogen and solid carbon. This means we are literally bringing carbon and GHG management back down to earth. That said, we wholeheartedly believe we can’t decarbonize quickly by thinking about ‘either/or’ solutions… we must believe in ‘and’. Had an engaging first day at the Canadian Hydrogen Economy in Action conference by Hydrogen Business Council (HBC) at Ontario Tech University! 🎉 Hon. Sam Oosterhoff, Associate Minister of Energy-Intensive Industries kicked off the event. I had the honor of speaking at the Transit Workshop on hydrogen station and facility considerations, highlighting the changes needed to support hydrogen in transit for a cleaner future. Proud to have volunteered alongside a dedicated team to make this event a success. It's inspiring to witness professionals, fleet managers, and experts uniting to advance hydrogen innovation. 💡🚍 Excited for today's conference sessions and the innovative ideas that will emerge. Day 1 of the Canadian Hydrogen Association's third annual Hill Days was a huge success! Our member delegation, representing the entire hydrogen value chain, engaged in meaningful discussions with key Members of Parliament and government officials to address the industry's priorities and needs to advance Canada's hydrogen economy. Highlights from today include attending the House of Commons Question Period and participating in roundtables with Transport Canada - Transports Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), where we explored critical issues such as cross-departmental collaboration on hydrogen, advancements in hydrogen production technologies, and expanding the use of hydrogen in various sectors. Additionally, the evening closed with delegate dinners, providing an opportunity for deeper conversations on industry challenges and networking with fellow members of the CHA and hydrogen community. We look forward to continuing these important conversations tomorrow alongside our members.
