Thank you, Anna Jeffs for the incredible impact you’ve made during your co-op term at Creative Energy.   During her time with us, Anna made significant contributions to our OT automation network, where she integrated new devices and commissioned remote steam monitoring cabinets. Additionally, Anna took on the complex task of designing and programming a dynamic simulator of a district energy system, providing valuable insights into our operations. She also played a key role in assisting with control documentation development.   We appreciate your hard work and dedication and we’re excited to see all that you’ll achieve in the future!   #Sustainability #DistrictEnergy #CreativeEnergy #CoopExperience #RenewableEnergy #NorthAmerica

The Government of Canada recently released the Canada Green Buildings Strategy (CGBS) which sets out the federal government’s vision for the building sector’s role in achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.    The CGBS confirms that buildings are the third largest emitting sector and that 96% of direct operational buildings emissions come from space and water heating – the majority of which is due to equipment that runs on fossil fuels. One of the three major priorities identified in the CGBS is that Canada’s future building sector must focus on decarbonizing space and water heating.    At Creative Energy, we’re proud to be at the forefront of this transformation. We are on a mission to significantly reduce carbon emissions by providing sustainable and cost-effective solutions for electrifying and decarbonizing thermal energy systems in buildings, ultimately reducing the use of fossil fuels. Our projects, both in operation and under construction, will collectively reduce over 60,000 tonnes of GHG emissions per year. By developing new low-carbon district energy systems, we’re leading the decarbonization of the built environment for both new and existing buildings and helping society achieve our collective net-zero emissions targets. With the release of the CGBS, it’s clear that decarbonizing the built environment is not just a priority but essential for achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, highlighting the critical importance of decarbonizing our buildings.   Click here to read the CGBS press release: https://lnkd.in/dZy2SyWq #Decarbonization #ghgemissions #carbonreduction #northamerica #canada

We would encourage you to join Chris Olmsted from Creative Energy for a webinar organized by Economy Zero Group on August 27, 2024 at 12:00 PM EDT where where he discusses the urgent need for decarbonization efforts in growing downtowns across North America.    Did you know that buildings in our urban centers in the United States and Canada account for 20-30% of all regional emissions? These spaces, where most of us live, work, and innovate, are central to our journey towards decarbonization.

The Economy Zero Group team is excited to announce our second webinar! Honing in on our current region of focus - North America 🌱 🌎 Join us and 3 expert speakers (David MacMillan, Ria Perrault, and Chris Olmsted) for a critical discussion about #decarbonization efforts for our growing #downtowns in #northamerica. 🏙 Buildings in our urban centres across the United States and Canada account for approximately 20-30% of all regional emissions. They are also the places where most of the population spends most of their time, and thus serve as hubs for fostering innovations and new ideas. It is important to get our city planning and design right, as we move towards #netzero! For this event, we are fortunate enough to have representation from the public sector, the private sector, and non-profits/civil society; setting the stage for a great discussion on how all three segments can collaborate towards decarbonizing our downtowns. 📆 Learn more on August 27, 2024 at 12:00 PM EDT. 👉  Register now for your FREE ticket here: https://lnkd.in/gPi6TtGv

Latest project update on Main Alley: With the help of Nitro Pipe Freeze Inc and Division 15 Mechanical Ltd. we were able to install a new isolation valve to facilitate a chiller replacement while keeping the rest of the district cooling system operational. This ensured that no shutdown was required during the installation. Thank you to all the teams for such great work while maintaining the energy system and facilitating the replacement simultaneously.   Our Main Alley project is Vancouver's first true district cooling system, providing affordable, reliable, and efficient cooling for the neighbourhood. We are thrilled to announce a major milestone in the expansion and modernization of our Core System. Last week, we energized our new steam-to-hot water converter at The Butterfly, a 600,000 ft² mixed-use residential development located at the corner of Burrard and Nelson in downtown Vancouver. This converter will provide clean, reliable, and affordable heating to the new LEED Gold, Revery Architecture Inc. designed tower and serve as an expansion node with up to 18 MW of future capacity. This will enable our low-carbon district energy system to meet the needs of future residents in South Downtown and the West End neighborhoods. Our dedicated team has worked tirelessly to bring this project to fruition, and we are proud to contribute to the comfort, well-being, and decarbonization of our community. Thank you to everyone involved in making this achievement possible. #CreativeEnergy #Decarbonization #Sustainability #EnergyEfficiency #Community #HeatingSolutions #NorthAmerica
