This Month, We Celebrate 97 Years of De Havilland Canada In 1928, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited was formally incorporated as a branch of the English company De Havilland, marking the beginning of nearly a century of aviation excellence. That same month, construction began on our first hangar in Mount Dennis, Toronto, where the legendary Moth would soon take flight. Just a few months later, in May 1928, an agreement was signed between De Havilland UK and DHC, officially granting us the right to manufacture British aircraft in Canada, a defining moment in our history. For 97 years, we’ve built more than just aircraft, we’ve built a legacy. From the iconic Beaver and Twin Otter to the trusted Dash 8, our aircraft have carried adventurers, pioneers, and communities to places others couldn’t reach. Through it all, one thing has never changed: we are Rugged. Reliable. Canadian. Proudly Canadian since 1928, we owe this journey to the incredible people who design, build, fly, and trust our aircraft every day. Thank you for being part of our story. The future is bright, and we’re just getting started. #DeHavillandCanada #97YearsStrong #RuggedReliableCanadian #ProudlyCanadian #AviationExcellence
