Introducing eDNAtec to the Scale-Up Hub Houston Atlantic Canada 2024 Cohort. eDNAtec helps customers understand and measure the environment. We read environmental DNA (eDNA) from water. soil, sediment, or air to identify a comprehensive range of organisms—including bacteria, algae, plants, insects, fish and marine mammals—which yields a complete picture of changes to ecosystems. Applications include environmental assessment, biodiversity monitoring, commercial species, invasive species, rare species, site remediation, nature reporting, CSRD, MPAs, NBS, CCS. "We are thrilled to join the new Scale-Up Hub Houston program. Houston is a vibrant climate tech, low carbon and energy leader, and we are eager to expand our footprint in these key markets." Steve Barrett, CEO, eDNAtec. #SUH_Houston #AtlanticGrowth

The global COVID-19 pandemic underscored the critical need for rapid response and large-scale mobilization of monitoring and mitigation strategies, particularly during global crises. In the cycle of a viral infection, the deployment of monitoring plans within hours or days leads to better outcomes and lower loss of life. This principle also applies to environmental monitoring and assessment, where swift action is essential to understand and mitigate the impact of human activities on vital ecosystems. Currently, we are facing two interconnected global crises: the climate emergency and biodiversity loss. Both demand timely data at large-scale to enable an effective biomonitoring system. Traditional methods for generating biodiversity data cannot provide the necessary scale for effective monitoring, especially as we implement Nature Impact policies and regulations, such as the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Environmental DNA (#eDNA) offers a robust and comprehensive solution for scaling up data generation for Essential Biodiversity Variables (EBVs). At eDNAtec, we collaborate with all stakeholders to demonstrate the utility of high-throughput eDNA data generation, integrating robotics and AI-based data analysis into our #EnviroSeq pipeline. We invite you to connect with us to learn more about our innovative solutions. #EnvironmentalDNA #biodiversity #biomonitoring

At eDNAtec, we are excited to offer a state-of-the-art service that enhances the detection of rare and endangered marine mammals through cutting-edge #eDNA analysis. All organisms leave traces of their DNA in their environment, forming the basis of eDNA analysis. However, endangered species, which are categorically less abundant and typically belong to groups with smaller population sizes, present a challenge. A typical eDNA analysis may haphazardly detect some of these endangered species but falls short of providing a comprehensive analysis of these rare targets. Nevertheless, there is a pressing demand to detect endangered species, driven by environmental assessment and monitoring policies and regulations. With our advanced marine mammal primer sets and ultra-deep sequencing on our in-house Illumina NovaSeq 6000, we detect all marine mammal species in ocean waters with exceptional precision. To further reduce bias and enhance accuracy, we have developed capture probes, ensuring even the rarest DNA signatures are identified. This cutting-edge technology, also used in early-stage cancer diagnostics, is now applied to protect our planet's most vulnerable marine life. Discover how our advanced marine mammal detection service can make a difference in your environmental assessments and monitoring efforts. 🌎 🌊 #EnviroSeq #MarineMammals #environmentalDNA #EndangeredSpecies
