Benzing(a)-Benzang. What an AMAZING week in Chicago at Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference. Two days packed with 'Hello's', learning, listening, sharing and catching up with so many working hard day in/out to move the US #cannabisindustry forward. We all know there is A LOT of work to be done, and there are many constraints along the way. The week reminded me (and many I spoke to) that we are never alone, and that leaning into community & true connection will be the key to moving through all that's ahead. We also had a fantastic group show up bright and early for #BuddyBrunch-Chicago 🍳! We will be donating 540 Meals to the Chicago Food Bank on behalf of everyone who joined us for breakfast on Wednesday morning. (And a sincere 'Thank You' to everyone who made it out!) It was also an honour (and a *pinch me*) moment to have Katie Graika beside me, as a part of the team with Emerald Lane Recruitment. She's back in the Biz, and if you're not already connected to her, make sure to reach out to her so you can follow along on all that we are getting up to at ELR. Although most of the week's focus & conversations were on the Profit & Plants side of the industry, we will continue to show up, and do our work, to support the 'People-Part' of the industry. Turned 40 🎂 and flew to Chicago 🇺🇸 Got in a few days early before Benzinga's Cannabis Capital Conference to celebrate a new decade, explore the windy city and eat (gluten free!) deep-dish 🍕 Looking forward to the week ahead, catching up with so many new/familiar faces from the US #cannabisindustry. This is my 3rd Benzinga, and it's always a highlight of the year with the US market. I've worked with clients & candidates in MI, NJ and CA this year, and the growth in the US cannabis market is only just beginning. Then come join us around the Breakfast table on Wednesday Oct 9 from 8:00-9:30am to fuel up for the (conference) day ahead ('cause we know the best deals get made when properly fueled & hydrated ;) Oh, and it’s my bday🎈so you can bet there will be🧁! Hello Dortmund 🇩🇪 Arrived a few days early to explore the forests and get some work done before heading into CB Company Expo Sept 19-21. Who's here this week? Let's set up a time to say 'Hello 👋' Looking forward to the final event on what's been an amazing 2024 European/UK conference season (I've spent 5 months total here this year, learning, greeting and hiring for the industry with Emerald Lane Recruitment) I fully believe one needs to be immersed in something in order to truly understand it, and then be able to provide support/solutions. Especially as a Global Recruiter. We work with the people of the industry, and the best way to greet & meet people is to connect with them where they are.
