Unlocking Manitoba’s Green Advantage: A Path to Sustainable Food Production Manitoba's food and beverage processing industry, with $7.3 billion in sales and 16,000 jobs, is committed to greener practices. Food & Beverage Manitoba (FABMb) is at the forefront, providing guidance and resources to help the industry address the challenges of changing supply chains, climate pressures, and environmental impacts. Executive Director Michael Mikulak says, "Manitoba has an opportunity to emerge as a global leader in low carbon food products." This transformation requires collaboration across all sectors and is already underway with initiatives like no-till farming and upcycling food waste. A key part of this mission is the Cultivate Sustainability Conference, where industry leaders share strategies for sustainable practices. Partnerships with innovative companies like TheoryMesh are simplifying the adoption of these practices. FABMb's dedication to supporting its members through resources, training, and partnerships marks a pivotal step towards a sustainable future. By addressing issues like sustainable packaging and emissions, and facilitating industry-wide collaboration, FABMb is not only advocating for change but actively contributing to a greener, more sustainable industry.
