In order to have success in ANY business, there is ONE thing that everyone in your organization MUST know and have memorized… Of course, there are many things to know about running a business… 😉 BUT, the ONE THING everyone must have ingrained in their memory, impacting their day to day decisions and actions, is the most important strategic priority that will grow and evolve your brand. We call it the RADICAL FOCUS! Now, what is a Radical Focus? A Radical Focus is the ONE thing in your organization with a Critical Number (metric) that is known by EVERYONE, from the founder to your franchisees and franchisees’ employees. Think of it as a goal, the most important goal, your #1, with a specific number that is established either at your quarterly or annual strategic planning sessions. It is the combination of the singular RADICAL FOCUS and CRITICAL NUMBER that creates a unified effort with everyone consistently working towards the same end goal. This keeps your organization moving and motivated to achieve the most important, strategic outcome. The Focus and the Critical Number go hand in hand. A Radical Focus is doomed and will not energize or deliver results without a Critical Number! Some tips for creating a Radical Focus and Critical Number: ✅ At the end of your annual or quarterly strategic planning session, get alignment and clarity from your team on the ONE, most important Wildly Important Goal and Metric that will have the greatest GROWTH impact and MUST be accomplished; ✅ Take time to clearly explain multiple times the ‘WHY’ and IMPACT behind the Wildly Important Goal and Number so everyone understands its importance; ✅ Choose a goal and metric that energizes large swaths of your business, where everyone feels they can have a part (large or small) in the success; ✅ Create a themed competition to highlight the Radical Focus with a highly visual scoreboard that EVERYONE can access and highlights the status of the Critical Number vs the end GOAL; ✅ Communicate progress on the Radical Focus and the associated Wildly Important Goal and Critical Number DAILY or WEEKLY and have a big, grand PRIZE that everyone can enjoy when the goal is achieved! ✅ Make the journey towards completing the Radical Focus and Critical Number FUN!
