🏗️💧 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 At the 2024 GTSWCA Municipal Infrastructure Summit, the City of Toronto outlined its focus on managing infrastructure growth, investing in environmental protection and water quality guided by the Wet Weather Flow Master Plan, and addressing repair backlogs through strategic funding and resource alignment. At the same time, key challenges and risks were also discussed, with rising capital construction costs, inadequate reserve balances, and staffing constraints continuing to challenge Toronto Water's ability to deliver on commitments amidst inflation, supply chain issues, and operational cost increases. Join us at the 2025 summit for the latest updates and insights into how the City is addressing these challenges and advancing its infrastructure priorities. 🏗️💧 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐏𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 In February last year, at the inaugural GTSWCA Municipal Infrastructure Summit, Halton Region provided updates on their capital works with 10-year linear capital programs to 2031, including the implemented long-term plan to improve one of the most important east-west transportation facilities in the region, Dundas Street. The Halton Regional Council also introduced a Vendor Performance Management (VPM) process, aiming to enhance vendor performance management, promote quality service delivery, and ensure accountability in municipal projects. The VPM initiative is stated to play a key role in shaping the region's future of procurement and project delivery. As we look ahead to this year's summit, we are excited to see continued progress on these initiatives and more. Recycled crushed aggregate = cost savings = good for the environment ✅ We are proud to support this important initiative and campaign led by the Toronto and Area Road Builders Association (TARBA) and Raly Chakarova, encouraging more use of recycled crushed aggregates for building critical infrastructure projects. #onpoli #infrastructure #roads #recycledcrushedaggregate #aggregate
Recycled Crushed Aggregate (#RCA) is exactly what it sounds like: #concrete and #asphalt that is processed and reused. Instead of ending up in a landfill, this sustainable, cost-effective, and high-performing material can be used in the construction and maintenance of roads, subdivisions, highways, bridges, and tunnels to help lower overall carbon emissions and project costs. Together with our industry coalition partners, we're launching a new campaign to urge municipalities to adopt policy changes to increase the use of RCA in the construction of public #infrastructure projects.
