🇨🇦 Hot on the heels of the City of Toronto and Government of Canada’s landmark $2.55 billion agreement to build more homes, faster, I had the opportunity to sit down with five powerhouse multifamily leaders who will be on the frontlines of bringing some of these communities – including Greenwin Corp., KingSett Capital and CreateTO’s 50 Wilson Heights – to life. CreateTO was proud to stand with our development partners this week as the federal government announced more than $365M for the first phase of rental housing at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard. York Centre’s newest transit-oriented community is now under construction next to the TTC Wilson subway station – one of the largest housing developments in the ground in Toronto.  Once complete, it will feature 1,484 new homes, including 520 new affordable homes, a new park, new childcare centre and new community space. The federal government’s commitment of $365M will help bring 767 new rental homes to 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard—384 of which will be affordable. This transit-oriented community, built in partnership with KingSett Capital, CreateTO, Tridel, and the City of Toronto, is a model for inclusive, sustainable development. Last week, we welcomed over 100 residents to celebrate the transformation of their amenity spaces at 2160 Lakeshore Rd. in Burlington and 2220 Marine Dr. in Oakville! With over $150,000 in capital expenditure (CAPEX) renovation projects, these brand-new amenity spaces were unveiled with light refreshments, great conversations, and a special flower giveaway in honour of International Women’s Day. From elegant lobby enhancements to inviting outdoor retreats, these renovations were planned and executed by Greenwin’s Capital Projects and Asset Enhancement Department to elevate the resident experience. The event was a wonderful opportunity for the Greenwin team to come together with residents, who shared their excitement about the new amenity spaces.
