As an active, competitive swimmer, Jordan Prior was shocked when she was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart condition in her mid-20s that required open heart surgery. After the life-saving surgery was a resounding success, Jordan turned her gratitude into action, partnering with her employer Grosvenor give back through volunteering at Lights of Hope, supporting the cause that helped her so deeply. “The access to such experienced teams at St. Paul's Hospital got me through one of the scariest moments of my life," Jordan says. "Going from a patient to a volunteer at Lights of Hope felt like it was full circle. Being able to give back to a place that gave me so much feels like the least that I can do.” Read Jordan's inspiring journey from healing to giving at: https://lnkd.in/gKwHZAt4

Seeing his patients smile and helping them return to the lives they deserve is Dr. Anson Cheung’s favourite part of his work as one of BC’s leading heart transplant surgeons at St. Paul’s Hospital. As home to BC’s only adult heart transplant program, St. Paul’s Hospital has been the lifeline for British Columbians living with heart disease. Since 1988, Providence Health Care has performed more than 600 heart transplants, with Dr. Cheung completing close to 400 of those life-saving procedures. Hear from Dr. Cheung about his inspiring work and how St. Paul’s is transforming cardiac care across BC.

When Leah and Tanya were three and five years old, their father, Glenn Ellis, disappeared. Despite years of searching, they never found him. The sisters moved forward with their lives, but they never gave up hope that their father was still out there. Then, last May—nearly 40 years after their father vanished from their hometown in Ontario—Tanya received an unexpected phone call from across the country. It was from a social worker at May’s Place Hospice in Vancouver. She had a patient named Glenn Ellis, and he was looking for his daughters.
