Last week at Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Europe 2025 in Bonn, we explored the future of automotive logistics with business and industry leaders, discussing strategies and solutions to drive efficiency and sustainability. Our experts, including our Global VP of Supply Chain Engineering, Kai Olschner, shared their insights on navigating demand uncertainty and building resilient, digitally-enabled supply chains. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversation. We look forward to continuing the conversation at Finished Vehicle Logistics in April.

We’ve added five Smart Trucks to our Ardagh Group Glass Packaging Africa fleet in South Africa and they’re changing the road freight game. These custom-designed vehicles, powered by dual-fuel tech and our own Lift Roof trailer design, can now transport 100 pallets per trip instead of 72, using less fuel and reducing road wear. This move supports our commitment to greener supply chain in sub-Saharan Africa - making deliveries more efficient and affordable for our customers. #SmartLogistics #Sustainability

Thank you to the UK Minister of State for Investment, Baroness Poppy Gustafsson, who joined our CEO and Group Chairman, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, last week for a tour of London Gateway. The visit marked our announcement to expand London Gateway and establish the facility as the UK's largest container port, with the £1bn project starting this Spring. Our Chairman also outlined plans to create over 1,000 construction jobs and 400 permanent roles, alongside the positive impact of the Gemini Cooperation’s commitment to our ports. The major expansion project will boost the UK’s trading capacity with two 400m-long all electric berths and a second rail terminal as we continue changing what's possible in the world of trade.
Last week, we announced an important milestone in our £1 billion expansion of London Gateway, with construction set to begin this May. To mark the occasion, I was pleased to welcome Baroness Poppy Gustafsson, UK Minister of State for Investment, to London Gateway. Our discussions focused on our long-term growth plans, the 400 new permanent jobs this expansion will create, and the port’s vital role in strengthening the UK’s trade resilience. With two new all-electric berths and a second rail terminal, this next phase of development will establish London Gateway as the UK's largest container port and strengthen its position as a key gateway for global trade. DP World has now invested over £5 billion in the UK, supporting 5,500 jobs. We are grateful for the continued support of the UK Government and our partners, including the Gemini Cooperation, in advancing our commitment to building world-class infrastructure that supports the country's economic growth, reduces carbon emissions, and improves supply chain efficiency.

Water is more than a resource, it is a lifeline for communities, economies and ecosystems. Yet, more than 2.2 billion people worldwide do not have safe water, and 1.5 billion do not have basic sanitation facilities. The private sector has a critical role in closing this gap. As part of our Water legacy pillar under the Our World, Our Future strategy, we are taking bold action. In 2025, we launched a transformative project with WaterAid in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, aimed at building thriving communities by improving access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in three healthcare centres near our port. Over the next three years, this initiative is expected to improve the health and well-being of 65,000 people. Clean water and sanitation are the foundation for good health and life full of opportunity - it means thriving communities and stronger economies. We recognise that investing in WASH is not just about infrastructure, it’s about empowering communities, enhancing workforce well-being and ensuring long-term business resilience. Our Water Conservation and Management Strategy (WCMS), set for implementation in 2025, embeds sustainable water stewardship into our operations, prioritising high-risk areas and local needs, while providing the framework for further integrating good water stewardship, with a focus on both water use and water quality.
