Health technology assessment (HTA) organizations from across the world recently came together in Portugal to explore what artificial intelligence (AI) could mean for HTA today and in the future. AI is poised to have an impact on areas like evidence synthesis and data analysis, and influence the thinking of HTA professionals around ethics, bias, and transparency. Thank you to Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) for bringing together different points of view and creating a forum to unpack some of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The team at Canada’s Drug Agency appreciates the opportunity to learn from our global community. 📸 👇 #2025GPF #HTAi2025 #HTA #AI

Wow!!! And maybe life is all about seizing opportunities when they come our way. I am beyond honored to be selected as the 2024 recipient of the HTAi Jill Sanders Memorial Scholarship! This isn’t just a scholarship—it’s a transformative opportunity, one that opens doors to growth, mentorship, and real-world impact. Being paired with a mentor in the field will allow me to learn, contribute, and expand my knowledge of HTA in ways I never imagined. To my fellow awardees—congratulations! The journey ahead is filled with learning, collaboration, and opportunities to create lasting change. I am excited to walk this path alongside such brilliant individuals who share the same passion for advancing healthcare. To Innocent H. Peter Uggh(MD) thank you for always sharing opportunities! I remember seeing this nearly last minute and thinking, “Why not give it a shot?” And here we are! This is a reminder that sometimes, it just takes that one leap of faith to change everything. A huge thank you to Health Technology Assessment international (HTAi) and the team for this incredible opportunity. The work starts now, and I’m ready to dive in! Thank God, my family for their endless support, and my colleagues for their belief in me and to my young Sister Lilian Mduma for being my forever hype woman. Let’s make this count!
