Earlier in March, our Essakane #Mine in Burkina Faso hosted its second annual #cycling Grand Prix, titled "The Pedal of #Resilience and Peace,” in Ouagadougou, bringing together athletes and spectators for a thrilling day of bike races! This year’s race also commemorated #InternationalWomensDay. We loved seeing our colleagues at Essakane complete their own cycling race to honour women in Burkina, and beyond! Cette année, la course soulignait aussi la #Journéeinternationaledesfemmes. C’était un plaisir de voir nos collègues d’Essakane faire une course à vélo pour honorer les #femmes du Burkina et du reste du monde ! Congratulations to our Côté Gold team for receiving funding through the Government of Canada’s Low Carbon Economy Fund, which supports projects across the country that invest in proven, #lowcarbon #technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The $1.48 million funding will allow our Côté Gold #mine to reduce its reliance on diesel while modernizing its pit pumping with infrastructure powered by low-carbon #electricity. Félicitations à notre équipe de Côté Gold, qui a reçu un financement dans le cadre du Fonds pour une économie à faibles émissions de carbone du gouvernement du Canada (Government of Canada), qui soutient des projets partout au pays investissant dans des #technologies à faibles émissions de carbone afin de réduire les gaz à effet de serre.
