Since 2005, Ross has worked at all levels of Newmont’s business, supporting major construction projects from start to finish. He has helped integrate acquired sites into Newmont’s environmental standards, built high-performing teams and shaped our strong governance structures and programs. Last week, several Newmont team members attended the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) conference in Toronto, Canada. During the conference, Abdul Rahman Amoadu, Newmont’s Managing Director for Africa and Canada, presented a keynote at the annual African Mining Breakfast ahead of the Investing in African Mining Seminar – North America’s largest African mining event. Abdul Rahman discussed several critical topics, including Newmont’s journey in Africa over the last 20+ years and how to unlock the region’s mining potential through political and regulatory stability, thoughtful capacity building and mutually beneficial partnerships. Graeme, a specialist in geology planning at Newmont Australia’s Boddington operation, has lived in Boddington since 1980 and was part of the team that discovered a gold deposit that became one of Australia’s largest gold mines. Graeme enjoys giving back to his community and was recently presented with the 2025 Boddington Community Citizen of the Year Award. He credits the small, connected community and friendly people for making Boddington great. “You need a team and collective effort to enhance wellbeing in the community. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, and Minerals Commission of Ghana CEO, Martin Kwaku Ayisi, to align on key priorities for the mining sector.
