    In August, Salt XC brought all our Bud Light U student representatives to Toronto to complete their onboarding live in-person. Bud Light U is a national campus program which we activate on 14 campuses with 50 student Brand Activation Managers (BAMs). We work with influential students across the country to bring Bud Light social giveaways, brand led event experiences and reach to campus markets nationally. Thank you to Labatt Breweries for trusting us with this exciting program. We’re thrilled to see it succeed and excited for our BAMs as they start their school years.     Exciting news from Salt and Mint! We had the incredible honor of collaborating with Shopify as they celebrated their 20th anniversary—a milestone for the Ottawa-founded global commerce giant!   To commemorate this achievement, Shopify brought us on board to produce an immersive Summit in Toronto at the Enercare Centre and Budweiser Stage. Over five days, Salt XC and Mint joined forces to lead the creative direction and production for a series of captivating activations, celebrating entrepreneurship.   Together with Mint, we produced the world’s largest hack-a-thon, hosted an additional full-day event for developers, and created countless activities including an indoor slide as an homage to their first office. The multi-day summit was packed with keynote sessions, intimate workshops, and curated networking opportunities, creating spaces for connection, learning, and innovation.    Thank you to Shopify for trusting us with this momentous event! This year, 26 talented interns brought their passion and creativity to the table, working on over 14 of our incredible clients including Sephora, Labatt, Shopify, Holman, Adidas, Coca-Cola, and RBC.    Whether working with our media team, out on activations across the country, or even building an entire website, each of our squad are leaving their mark on high-impact projects like the Michelob Muskoka Pro Am, Shopify Summit and the RBC x Music Festival.    Watch this space for your turn!     It's that time again. Parents are purchasing fresh school supplies, prepping pantries to start packing lunches again, and mentally preparing themselves to send their kiddos back to school and get back into a more scheduled routine. I don't have kids, but over the past few years as we routinely prepare to launch our incredible team of Summer Squad'ers back into their "real lives" I've started to get a sneak peak of what it feels like to send the next generation away to experience a new adventure. SALT XC's Summer Squad 2024 set a new bar. They arrived in May, unsure of what to expect, but having the courage to learn. Throughout the past four months every single one of them showcased: - PASSION for their teams, the work, and our clients; - OPENNESS to learning and growing; - CURIOSITY about the world and work around them. As they embark on their next adventure - whether that is school, travel, or continuing their professional adventure - I want all of them to know that their passion, their openness and their curiosity improved our work and strengthened our culture. Summer Squad 2024 made Salt better (value # 4 !) and for that, we couldn't be more grateful.     Meet Samuel Davis, "Sam", Social Media Manager at Salt. Sam's been with us for 4 years, creating social content for our clients. We asked Sam to tell us more about what it's like to work at Salt, what he's proud of and why he loves being a part of the team. Can you describe what a typical day at work is like?  It might sound cliché, but no day is the same with what I do at Salt. Whether it's presenting a report analyzing social metrics or shooting content with TikTok music sensations, no day is truly "typical."    What are some of your favorite parts of the job?  My favorite parts of the job are that I get to be creative and be a part of the entire process, from ideation to the finished product. There's something really satisfying about watching something that once lived on a notepad being shared and viewed by people around the world.    How do you achieve a work/life balance in agency life?  Movement and relationships outside of the office are important for me to be successful in my job. I really like running (I know, yuck) because it helps me clear my mind and stay active.     Having genuine and memorable life experiences and relationships is one of my core values and the culture we have at Salt allows me to embody this.      What does it mean to work at Salt, for you?  Salt is an amazing place to work. As someone who's been with the company for almost four years, I can say Salt takes care of their employees and understands that a positive work culture enhances the business results. To quote the great Wiz Khalifa we really “Work Hard, Play Hard”     What do the company’s values mean to you?  I strive to embody the company's values whenever I step into 249 Dufferin. The one that really sticks with me is "Do What's Right." It seems very simple, but in a society where it's become quite easy to not "Do What's Right," I pride myself on ensuring all my projects are always meeting business objectives while also doing the right thing.    What is your most proud professional accomplishment?  I have two.  One is growing the follower count on our Xbox Canada TikTok account to over 700k. Achieving this with the help of our amazing creative team and the trust from our clients at Xbox Canada has been incredibly rewarding.     The second is building our social media content engine at Salt. My managers put a lot of trust in me to create this department and help foster the amazing talent we have. Now, being able to say that we fully run the day-to-day social content for 8+ brands is an accomplishment I'm very proud of.
