We had a great experience at the Canadian Hydropower Week organized by WaterPower Canada | Hydroélectricité Canada. The event was a great opportunity to connect, explore new hydropower innovations, and exchange ideas. Our Director - Civil & Structural Engineering, Samuel Franklyn, participated in a panel on innovative strategies for rehabilitating small hydro, where experts shared insights on overcoming challenges and optimizing hydroelectric production.

Last week our Vice President – Finance Nikolaos Nikolaidis joined a panel on the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (#IRA) on the U.S. renewable energy industry at the REFF Wall Street Conference organized by IJGlobal in New York. Alongside top industry leaders, Niko discussed how the IRA has influenced key trends in advanced manufacturing, domestic content, and energy community credits. The panel explored how the IRA has truly revolutionized the industry, its impact on the bankability of emerging technologies, and what we might expect from future renewables-related legislation in light of the upcoming presidential election. #renewables #finance #InflationReductionAct

We were proud to participate in the 2024 Atlantic Indigenous-Led Energy Symposium, an inspiring event focused on the critical role of Indigenous leadership in shaping the Atlantic region’s energy future. Our team, including Kristina Hamernik, Development Manager - Energy Storage, and Patrick Beaudoin, CPA, Vice President – Asset Optimization and Procurement, contributed to panels discussing energy storage and Indigenous-led renewable energy projects, such as the Mesgi'g Ugju's'n wind farm (a site co-owned with the MMBC - Mi'gmawei Mawiomi Business Corporation).   This gathering celebrated the vision and leadership of Indigenous communities in driving the energy transition. We’re grateful to be part of such meaningful discussions that pave the way for a sustainable and inclusive future. Thank you to the organizers for making this event possible!

Samedi dernier, on a eu le plaisir de remettre le prix de l’Entreprise écoresponsable lors de la Soirée Uashteshiu à Sept-Îles, un événement rassemblant la communauté d’affaires innue pour célébrer l’excellence entrepreneuriale. J'ai eu le privilège de participer à la rubrique « Dix questions à… » avec Ulysse Bergeron dans La Presse, une série d'entretiens qui met en lumière des parcours variés du monde des affaires. C'était une belle occasion pour moi de partager quelques leçons apprises au fil de mon parcours, les mentors qui m'ont inspiré, et les défis que nous avons relevés chez Innergex. J’ai eu la chance d’avoir été entouré de personnes inspirantes qui m’ont poussé à constamment me dépasser, et j’espère, très humblement, que mon parcours pourra en inspirer d’autres.

We’re very excited to have supported the students from Liceo Crisol de Mulchén in building a scale race car powered by Green Hydrogen (H2V). Our support included providing six lipol batteries and a charger, helping them prepare for the big race at Hyvolution Chile 2024 in Santiago.   This small car, proudly displaying our Innergex logo, competed in the H2 Grand Prix 2024, securing 3rd place against 15 schools from across Chile in the national race, and even recorded the fastest lap at 17 seconds! But that’s not all, they also secured 1st place in the endurance and energy efficiency race, completing 208 laps over an hour and a half! This initiative highlights the importance of renewable energy and green hydrogen in education, aligning with our mission to support young innovators and advance sustainable technologies in the communities where we operate.   President Gabriel Boric was present at the event, celebrating the achievements of these talented students. #GreenHydrogen #H2

What are the most effective climate policies? The latest global study reveals how a mix of strategies, both carrots and sticks, can significantly reduce emissions in the electricity sector. From our perspective at Innergex, we’ve noticed that regulatory policies like establishing a renewable portfolio standard (RPS), planning for the expansion of renewable generation and providing incentives for electrifying buildings and transport work best to drive impactful climate action.
