Exciting progress on our #BalticPower offshore wind project with completion of the first onshore link that will support connection of the offshore wind farm to the onshore substation. The energy received here will be integrated into the National Power Grid when the project is operational in 2026. Baltic Power is the first offshore wind farm to be built in Poland and will be one of the largest operating offshore facilities in Europe.

In the Lubiatowo area, the first of four directional drills beneath the coastline, beach, and seabed has been successfully completed, with no significant impact on ecologically sensitive areas. This phase of the project lays the groundwork for connecting the Baltic Power offshore wind farm to its onshore substation. The 1.4 km tunnel will house the power transmission cables. The drilling was conducted using horizontal directional drilling technology (HDD). For more information, please visit the Baltic Power website: https://lnkd.in/gHsgkmKr #OffshoreWind

Earlier this week, we received state approval on the siting permit for our 100 MW Alfred Oaks solar project in Allegany County, New York. Approval came 9 months after our permit submission was deemed complete and is the result of a strong collaborative working relationship with the community and local stakeholders. This is a critical step forward in the project’s development. Alfred Oaks will be Northland’s first solar project in New York State and, once operational, will produce enough electricity to power 13,000 average-sized homes. Northland already operates 220 MW of onshore wind in New York through our Bluestone and Ball Hill facilities, and are well-positioned to help the state move closer to the targets they’ve set for a clean energy economy. Read more about Alfred Oaks and it’s impact on New York State here:

Over the last three months, teams at the Gemini offshore wind farm have worked hard to organize and initiate a cable repair campaign to remedy a failure on one of the wind farm's two export cables. The successful repair and reenergization of the cable in under three months is a huge achievement and reflects a commitment to operational excellence. Thank you to all teams involved for their enormous efforts in bringing Gemini back to full operations quickly and safely.

✔️ Milestone Achieved ✔️ Today, our #HaiLong Offshore Wind Project and Siemens Gamesa held a ceremony to announce the official start of turbine production at the recently expanded Taichung Nacelle Plant. The upgraded production facility will manufacture Hai Long’s powerful 14MW turbines and is a crucial piece to achieving timely grid connection for the project. This announcement is a major step forward for Hai Long and demonstrates continued progress on the project’s construction. It is expected that Hai Long will begin receiving turbines in the second quarter of 2025 and will begin offshore installation in the same year. With this, we remain focused and on track to complete Hai Long 2 by the end of 2025 and Hai Long 3 in 2026. Read more about today's announcement and the nacelle production facility here: https://bit.ly/3yt3Dcg #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy (📷 by Siemens Gamesa)
