A bee sting is a wound caused by a bee. A bee is a winged insect that has a barbed, thorn-shaped organ (stinger) at the end of its three-segmented body. These segments include the head, thorax and abdomen. Bees use their stinger to defend themselves and their hive, which is a bee’s home. The stinger contains venom. When a bee stings its stinger detaches from its body and sticks in the skin. The puncture of the stinger in the skin combined with bee venom causes symptoms that include pain and swelling. Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age. Allergic shiners are dark, discolored circles under eyes that may look like black eyes (bruises). They appear due to nasal congestion brought on by hay fever (allergic rhinitis). As the immune system responds to allergies, It may develop swelling in the moist inner lining of the nose (mucosal edema). The Bier block, also known as intravenous local anesthesia (IVRA), is a safe, effective, and cost-efficient way to provide short-term anesthesia and analgesia during surgery on an extremity. This technique requires minimal additional equipment and can be performed in a variety of clinical environments. This activity describes the indications, contraindications, and potential complications of the Bier block, and highlights the role of the interprofessional team in caring for patients requiring it. Allergic rhinitis (hay fever) is an allergic reaction to tiny particles in the air called allergens. When breathe in allergens through nose or mouth, the body reacts by releasing a natural chemical called histamine. Despite being called hay fever, hay doesn’t cause hay fever and most people don’t get a fever. Symptoms of hay fever include sneezing, nasal congestion and irritation in nose, throat, mouth and eyes. Allergic rhinitis isn’t the same as infectious rhinitis, otherwise known as the common cold. Celiac disease is a chronic (long-term) digestive and immune disorder that damages small intestine. The damage may prevent body from absorbing vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients from the food eat. This can lead to malnutrition and other serious health problems Celiac disease is triggered by eating foods that contain gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and other grains. It may also be in other products like vitamins and supplements, hair and skin products, toothpastes, and lip balm. Food allergies occur when body overreacts to the proteins in specific foods. This overreaction is called an allergic reaction. Food allergy is an immune system reaction that happens soon after eating a certain food. Even a tiny amount of the allergy-causing food can trigger symptoms such as digestive problems, hives or swollen airways. In some people, a food allergy can cause severe symptoms or even a life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis. The Thymus Is A Primary Lymphoid Organ Essential for The Development of T Lymphocytes Which Orchestrate Adaptive Immune Responses. T Cell Development in The Thymus Is Spatially Regualted; Key Checkpoints in T Cell Maturation and Selection Occur in Cortical and Medullary Regions to Eliminate Self-Reactive T Cells, Establish Central Tolerance, and Export Naive T Cells to The Periphery with The Potential to Recognize Diverse Pathogens. Thymic Output Is also Temporally Regulated Due to Age-Related Involution of the Thymus Accompanied by Loss of Epithelial Cells.
