Last night’s TechTuesday was a memorable evening filled with forward-looking conversations on how we continue to position Kanata North as part of Ottawa as a leader on the global tech stage. The room was buzzing with energy as we explored the exciting vision for our region’s tech ecosystem with speakers and a panel of distinguished voices. Our esteemed panelists - Mark Sutcliffe, Councillor Cathy Curry, Stephen Willis from Stantec, and Kelly Daize of Kanata North Business Association, shared with us insights on progress on the special economic zone designation, important city projects and policies, and initiatives that will shape the future of Kanata North. Special thanks to Hon. Jenna Sudds, MP for Kanata-Carleton and Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, for sharing her perspective on local and national investments that will influence our tech community’s growth. 🚀 Exciting News from Carleton University! 🚀 Today, Carleton announced they are launching Ontario’s first new university nursing program in over 20 years, addressing the province’s healthcare needs with a cutting-edge, accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing! 🏥💡 Highlights of the new nursing program: 🔹 Fast-Track Workforce Readiness: This three-year compressed program combines early clinical placements with advanced AI tools, simulation environments, and hands-on experience, preparing students for high-demand healthcare roles right from the start. 🔹 Innovative Specializations: Students can specialize in Data Science or Neuroscience & Mental Health, gaining expertise for tech-driven and mental health-focused careers. 🔹 Indigenous and Mental Health Focus: Designed with an Indigenous-built curriculum, the program emphasizes cultural competency, mental health resilience, and holistic support, aligning with Carleton's Kinàmàgawin Indigenous strategy.
