As a leader in the AI space, TD is constantly researching and innovating to ensure we have the right talent, technology, tools and partnerships in place. I'm excited to share that we signed an agreement with Cohere to explore how language models can deliver the power of GenAI to our customers and colleagues. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with The Wall Street Journal's Isabelle Bousquette about TD's perspective on large and mid-sized language models, and the accuracy vs efficiency trade-off. Over the next few months we'll be experimenting with fine tuning Cohere's smaller enterprise-focused language models to our data and use cases to maximise the impact of this technology. Layer 6 was onstage in front of 2000 attendees for this year's premier banking conference held in Seattle! Banks incorporating Gen AI will likely begin with closed-source models because they may be a faster way to build muscle and get a pilot into market. But open-source models could ultimately be more advantageous in the long-term because they can be optimized for greater performance.
