Meet Destina Mattrasingh, a dedicated volunteer and 4th-year PhD student with a passion for STEM Advocacy! Currently studying at the University of Guelph, Destina’s research focuses on antimicrobial resistance in swine agriculture. Her work aims to address critical public health issues by combining traditional and modern methods to identify dangerous bacteria. When she’s not in the lab, she’s busy volunteering with Let’s Talk Science, helping to make STEM accessible and equitable, ensuring that no field is untouchable to any student. Let’s Talk Science is organizing a career panel, for our volunteers, next April 29 (English) and May 1 (French), both 4-5 PM Eastern, on using AI in STEM. We’re looking for panelists that can talk about how they’re using AI to solve problems, and share their concerns, challenges and breakthroughs with this technology.
