“It takes an average of 1,476 days to add a new medicine to a public drug formulary in Canada compared with 647 days in Europe and 530 days in the US.” TheFutureEconomy.ca recently published “Can Canada Harness Its Potential to Become a Leader in the Life Sciences?”, an op-ed by Dr. Jason Field, President and CEO of Life Sciences Ontario. This piece delves into Canadian leadership in the life sciences and obstacles to overcome; it also emphasizes the acute need for collaboration and an all-hands-on-deck approach. “Canada now faces a crucial choice,” says Dr. Field. “It can ignore or fight these technological advances by shutting the door to healthcare innovation and concluding that what we do now is “good enough.” The other option is to embrace the dramatic changes in science and healthcare and harness them for the benefit of both patients and our economic development.” Read this op-ed and be part of an important conversation which will shape the future of Canada’s life sciences sector: https://lnkd.in/ggVJ-zrG #opinion #lifesciences #thoughtleadership #biosciences #innovation

“A picture is worth a thousand words.” A quick search of Wikipedia for “Community” you’ll come up with the following: A community is a social unit with a shared socially significant characteristic, such as place, set of norms, culture, religion, values, customs, or identity. Communities may share a sense of place situated in a given geographical area or in virtual space through communication platforms. Yesterday’s Life Sciences Ontario’s Annual Golf Classic was a perfect example of this with so many memories, laughter and smiles created by the people that make up the #lifesciences community. Thank you to our corporate and event sponsors; participants; Committee and event volunteers; LSOO staff and team at Lionhead for another incredible event. Each of you plays an integral role in the success of what LSO is able to do to support our mission. Until next year at our 25th Annual LSO Annual Golf Classic.
Today, we are hosting our most-attended Golf Classic till date! 🏌️ Thank you to all the attendees for creating a fun atmosphere, and to our sponsors, donors and volunteers for helping to make this event possible. #LSOGolf2024 #tournament #lifesciences #networking
