Funding the very best in cancer research
About us
The Lundin Cancer Fund was created in honour of Mr. Lukas Lundin who passed away from glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, in 2022. Lukas Lundin was head of the Lundin Group of Companies, a leading force in the mining and oil and gas industries. Lukas’ life journey was remarkable. Entrepreneurial, and always adventurous, he was passionate about the resource industry and its power to transform lives. From the high Andes of Argentina to the jungles of Ecuador, he pursued opportunities that led to some of the largest and most successful resource developments in the world. The wealth creation from these projects facilitated a meaningful flow of benefits not only to investors but also to local communities in the form of support for local entrepreneurs, jobs, education and skills training, local procurement, economic diversification, and social and environmental innovation. During the course of his illness, the family recognized the lack of awareness of various types of cancers, particularly brain cancers, as well as the lack of funding of clinical trials and new innovative research. He and his family wanted to change that. As a result, Lukas and his family established the Lundin Family Brain Tumour Research Centre at the University Hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland (CHUV). Next, in order to further fund CHUV over the long term, as well as other brain cancer research, the Lundin family established the Lundin Cancer Fund. The mission of the Fund is to finance the very best in cancer research around the world. The Lundin family are committed to raising awareness and funding, and to make high impact, results-oriented investments in cancer research. The Fund will encourage international collaboration and sharing of scientific data. Online donations: https://www.kbfcanada.ca/en/projects/lundin-cancer-fund/

This Fund aims to finance the very best brain in cancer research and treatment globally, and to encourage international collaboration and sharing of scientific data. “Project No Limit” Pre-Screening Event: To bring more awareness and publicity to funding brain cancer research, Jack and William Lundin are embarking on a momentous journey. They will be climbing Mount Everest guided by expert mountaineer, Nimsdai “Nims” Purja. Every step of this journey will be in honor of their dad, Lukas Lundin, who passed away from Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, in July of last year. Not only is this climb a tribute to Lukas but it is also an initiative to raise funding and to support those that are still alive and battling this disease. The climb will be filmed and made into a documentary about Lukas' inspiring life by the filmmakers of the Netflix documentary, "14 Peaks". The working title for the film about Lukas is "No Limit".
