We had an incredible kick off yesterday of our Femtech Canada x Velocity University of Waterloo Women's Health Innovation Challenge. 👩⚕️ Prehabilitation, including nutrition, can improve outcomes for esophageal cancer patients. 🏋♂️ A recent study using EMN’s medical nutrition products found that nutrition can substantially increase quality-of-life scores for esophageal cancer patients when combined with exercise programs prior to surgery. 💪 This type of cancer is associated with high mortality rates largely due to difficulty swallowing, which can quickly result in a significant decline in nutritional status. Pelvic pain patients deserve better. "Patients reported having seen an average of 5.7 providers prior to presentation. Patients felt supported by only 42% of past providers. Patients felt belittled by 27% of past providers. Fertility Matters Canada and myStoria are proud to present our Fertility Patient Experience Report. The report reveals that only 29% of people feel their government is well informed about infertility, exposing a critical gap in awareness at the policy-making level. This lack of understanding can result in inadequate support for individuals facing fertility challenges, including limited access to affordable treatments, insufficient insurance coverage, and a lack of public education on reproductive health. It’s clear that governments must better educate themselves to create policies that address the real needs of those affected, ensuring equitable and compassionate care for all.
