Mosaic Forest Management is a Canadian leader in sustainable timberlands management.
About us
Mosaic Forest Management (Mosaic) is a timberlands management company. We are passionate about sustainable forestry and giving back to the communities where we live, work and play. Sustainability is at the heart of everything Mosaic does. Ensuring that forests are there for future generations is critical to the long-term health of our company and local communities. Every year, Mosaic plants over 10 million healthy, naturally occurring seedlings. Mosaic is committed to being a leader in sustainable forest management. We were the first forest company in Canada to be certified by the globally recognized Sustainable Forestry Initiative. In 2023, the Canadian Council of Indigenous Business recognized Mosaic with the Progressive Accreditation in Indigenous Relations Gold certification, making it the first and only timberlands owner in Canada to achieve this standard of excellence. Mosaic's success is built on our company's exceptional team of professionals and talented contractor workforce. We were honoured to be recognized as one of BC's Top Employers in 2022, 2023 and 2024. 🌟 Employee Spotlight! 🌟 This month, we’re celebrating Tami Doyle, who has reached an incredible milestone—30 years with Mosaic Forest Management and its predecessor companies. ✨ Career Highlight: Tami’s journey started in a memorable way. While waiting for an interview at the Nanaimo Lakes Operation, she responded to an emergency call, quickly contacting the Forest Industrial Flying Tankers. Thanks to her quick thinking, a water bomber was deployed, and the fire was successfully extinguished. This moment marked the beginning of her career in the forestry industry. 🏞️ Life Outside of Work: Outside of work, you can find Tami enjoying time with family, friends, and her three dogs—Buddy, Teddy, and Tikka. She loves exploring the beauty of Vancouver Island, especially its stunning coastline. Thank you, Tami, for your 30 years of service and dedication! Want to learn more about Mosaic? Mosaic and Mount Washington Alpine Resort continue to work together in support of public access to roads, Nordic trails and Outback areas located on Mosaic’s private forest lands. Mount Washington consistently demonstrates a track record of responsible use and shares Mosaic’s focus on public safety and protecting the environmental values associated with our working forest. Mount Washington is currently expanding trails and parking areas and Mosaic provided large rock and gravel for these improvements which will support increased tourism on Vancouver Island. Huy ch q’u/ thank you to Ha-Youly Sharon Hobenshield (pictured centre). As Kw’umut Lelum (KL) Foundation’s Executive Director, she joined Mosaic staff for a company-wide learning event, held in advance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. To help us deepen our cultural competencies, Sharon delivered many profound insights, touching on topics like the value of respect and reciprocity, and exploring the “how” in reconciliation. Her message on needing to make changes now in preparation for the future reinforced the great work the @KwumutFoundation is doing in empowering the limitless potential of Indigenous youth and the communities of its nine member Nations. Mosaic is proud of our partnership with the KL Foundation. The support we contribute is helping activate Indigenous-led outcomes for these member Nations.
