“I’ve worked at A&W for 28 years and look forward to Burgers to Beat MS every year. It’s humbling when you meet members of the community who are affected by MS and hear what the campaign means to them. There’s a sense of pride seeing every location across the country come together to support the MS community and raise as much as we can to help fund research and support programs. Our staff get excited about the campaign and spirits are always high. It’s really a team effort! Our location always has fun activities going on, including hosting an annual car show on Burgers to Beat MS Day. The DJ and an appearance from the Great Root Bear make it extra special! It’s incredible to see so many people come out to support the cause. If you’re in Saskatoon, stop by our 8th street location on August 22 for a burger! Your visit will significantly impact the life of someone living with MS.” - Roxann, A&W Restaurant Manager, Saskatchewan Thank you to Roxann, her team, and everyone at A&W for their continued dedication to raising awareness and funds for Canadians affected by MS. Your generosity and commitment truly make a difference. On August 22 (TOMORROW), $2 from every Teen Burger® sold across the country will support our community. Attention Healthcare Professionals – we want to hear from you! The Canada Disability Benefit is a critical support, set to begin in summer 2025, but recent updates suggest access may be limited to those with a valid Disability Tax Credit (DTC) certificate. This poses challenges for individuals with conditions like Multiple Sclerosis (MS), especially those with episodic disabilities. Before this announcement, the DTC's impact on low-income individuals was limited as a non-refundable tax credit. For many with MS, proving eligibility under the current criteria has been daunting due to stringent requirements. To address these concerns, MS Canada has launched a survey to gather insights directly from healthcare professionals like you. Your experience in completing the application process for DTC can significantly influence whether individuals receive the support they desperately need. Share your thoughts and experiences in our survey by July 9th to help shape policies that better support the MS community. Together, we can advocate for fair access to essential benefits. Take the survey now and make your voice heard: bit.ly/3RUsdJA
