OFE - Opportunities for Employment

When Shukrah came to Canada, one of her biggest priorities was securing employment. On one of her trips downtown, Shukrah noticed the OFE building sign and decided to make a quick drop-in to inquire about our services. This would mark the beginning of her journey with OFE. After an assessment of her skills and education, and taking into account her future career aspirations, Shukrah was deemed a great candidate for the Disability Support Worker (DSW) training. She completed the training as well as several other modules: Self-Marketing Preparation, Workplace Preparation, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention. Shukrah came to OFE back in February of this year and was hired in March of 2024 as a Disability Support Worker! Her Employment Consultant was recently in contact with her and she continues to work full-time in this field! We are so happy that she has found full-time meaningful work.
