She is currently working with Regional Support Associates, where she works with the teen and adult population to develop and monitor behaviour interventions. Alexandra also teaches part-time at McMaster University in the Autism and Behavioural Science specialization of the Human Behaviour program (B.A.Sc.). She has over 9 years of experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis strategies and working with families and children touched by Autism and various other diagnoses through several organizations in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. Alexandra has had an interest in educating and assisting vulnerable population for as long as she can remember. ✨Featuring Our Board Members ✨ Meet Lynne, Treasurer at ONTABA. 🎉 Lynne Thibodeau has a Master of Education degree and is a Registered Behaviour Analyst. She is a parent co-founder of Spectrum Intervention Group in Ottawa. Lynne has been working with children and young adults diagnosed with autism for over 25 years providing clinical supervision to team members (supervised clinical leads, staff trainers, and instructor therapists); providing supervision to candidates seeking credentialing through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BCBA, BCaBAs); staff training, parent training, and workshops in the community. Her hands-on approach allows her to share her vast knowledge and experience with all Spectrum staff. She has a reputation in the community as a strong, caring advocate for families touched by autism. Throughout her career, she has helped develop and supervise programs for approximately 1500 children and youth. She is the Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Autism and Behavioural Science Program at Algonquin College. A big thank you to Shane T. Spiker, PhD, BCBA-D, for hosting his "Evaluating Treatment Options for Inappropriate Sexual Behavior" event on behalf of Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA). It was an informative presentation filled with valuable research and empirical data on prevention, teaching, management interventions, and treatment for individuals engaging in inappropriate sexual behaviour. The event had attendees from all over North America and some from South East Asia (Malaysia). The session was not only engaging but also a fun learning experience! Special Thanks to Don Togade, Ph.D., BCBA-D, R.B.A. (Ont.), the chair of ONTABA's DEI committee, for organizing the event and to Sydney Solomon chair of ONTABA's conference and events committee, for making it accessible via Behavior Live. ✨ Highlighting Our ONTABA President: Jaime Santana ✨ After completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Jaime decided to continue his education in a field that would allow him to apply behaviour science and help underserved populations. This led him to take his Masters in Applied Disability Studies from Brock University with a focus on Applied Behaviour Analysis. He graduated from the program in 2017 and shortly thereafter earned his BCBA credential. As a Supervising Therapist, Jaime supported adults on the Autism Spectrum through a program that focuses on community inclusion, vocational skills development, self-help skills, as well as the reduction of problem behaviour. Recently he has become a clinical director at his own company, servicing youth and adults in community-based programming. Over the last few years, Jaime has become a staunch advocate for a needs- and evidence-based Ontario Autism Program as well as improvements in the adult developmental sector. He plans to continue to advocate for children, families and adults in his capacity as a board member and professional in Autism Services. Finally, Jaime looks forward to contributing more fully to ONTABA as president and is excited about the accomplishments ONTABA is sure to make over the next two years. #ONTABA #JaimeSantana #ABA #BCBA #RBA #Leadership

This Is A Historic Day! 🗓 Starting July 1, 2024, the use of the title "Behaviour Analyst" will be regulated under the new Psychology and Applied Behaviour Analysis Act (2021). 🎓 Only members of the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts (CPBAO) registered as Behaviour Analysts will be authorized to use this title. 🏛️ We would like to thank all of the past presidents, vice-presidents, board of directors, members, and all of the individuals that worked hard to make this all possible. We would love to thank the College of Psychologists for their recognition and their continued support. What does it mean now? 🔹 Unregulated practitioners cannot use the title "Behaviour Analyst." 🔹 They cannot indicate any certification or designation related to being a Behaviour Analyst. 🔹 Misuse of the title will prompt the College to take corrective actions.
