An inspiring hour! https://lnkd.in/e5W9MrnH
Thank you to Lecia Stewart, Louise Panneton, and Jennifer Massig for sharing their insights at our recent Women's Infrastructure Network virtual event spotlighting women-led businesses, facilitated by Diksha Kathuria and Dr.Purnima Barjatya. These inspiring, courageous, and empathetic women are working hard every day to create diversity in infrastructure leadership. Some key takeaways from the event included the importance of having diverse hiring managers to support hiring diversely, saying yes to different experiences, the importance of hiring generational and cognitively diverse teams, and focusing on integrating different facets of life rather than trying to achieve the seemingly unattainable concept of 'work-life' balance. And for all the busy parents out there, they said it's okay to not make the cookies from scratch for the kids' bake sale - you can see my sigh of relief when I heard that last one! Thank you again to our wonderful speakers and facilitators for sharing their knowledge and experiences. Let's continue to work towards creating a more diverse and inclusive workplace. #WomenInLeadership #DiversityandInclusion #InspiringWomen #WIN

In one week, on Day 2 #P32023, P1 Consulting's Louise Panneton will participate in a discussion led by moderator Lisa Mitchell, President & CEO, CCPPP. Joining her in the discussion will be Angela Clayton, President, Project Delivery, Infrastructure Ontario; Nathalie Ethier, Acting Director General, Real Property Branch, Library and Archives Canada; Colin Flock, Senior Vice President, EllisDon Facilities Services; and Magda Sabat, Vice President, Pre-Construction, Apex, Canadian Building, Pomerleau. In recent years, with concern over risk imbalances rising and dynamic market conditions, the relationship glue holding our most important public infrastructure projects across Canada has started to fray and, in some cases, even breakdown to the point where some believe shifting to other models is the solution. But we can’t change human nature and corporate culture simply by changing the procurement model. Picking up on some of the key themes from the White-Frasier Report and following Barry White’s keynote, this General Session will explore how collaboration can be emphasized right from the beginning in partnership models. How might this change the way infrastructure deals are structured, procured and evaluated? How does a government owner select a good partner? What procurement tools can be used to assess “fit” and ability to partner effectively? Do they work? How can both the public and private sector enable this culture? What tools can be used in the implementation period to foster and maintain an effective partnership? And, what happens when the partnership is at a crisis point? What can be done, over and above the contractual obligations, to address the issues and repair the relationship?
