Change is coming soon! This weekend, I presented at the Annual Conference of the Pain Society of Alberta. I shared recent discoveries in the field of neuroplasticity and pain, and our work at TrainPain. What really stood out to me (and I’ve noticed this at other pain conferences as well) is the significant shift happening amongst clinicians. More and more, mainstream medical conferences are focusing on psychology and non-medication / non-surgical approaches to pain care. The field is finally moving forward, embracing a comprehensive body+mind approach. It’s overdue, and exciting to see! I expect we’ll see patient care really evolve over the next 2-5 years. A special thank you to Alex Chisholm and Pain Society of Alberta for the invitation and collaboration.
