The newly defined Vicuña metallogenic belt, straddling the border of Chile and Argentina, includes emerging world-class porphyry-epithermal deposits such as Filo del Sol, Josemaria, Lunahuasi, Los Helados, and Caserones. Located on the border of Chile and Argentina, Filo del Sol is an interesting property for WorldView-3 alteration mapping, having had multiple phases of telescoping porphyry and high-sulfidation mineralization and alteration preserved at surface.
