The newly defined Vicuña metallogenic belt, straddling the border of Chile and Argentina, includes emerging world-class porphyry-epithermal deposits such as Filo del Sol, Josemaria, Lunahuasi, Los Helados, and Caserones.   Slide through the images to view the high-resolution WorldView-3 alteration map below, produced using our proprietary deep-learning algorithms, showing the alteration associated with the Filo del Sol and Lunahuasi deposits. Located on the border of Chile and Argentina, Filo del Sol is an interesting property for WorldView-3 alteration mapping, having had multiple phases of telescoping porphyry and high-sulfidation mineralization and alteration preserved at surface. The distribution of opal and buddingtonite shows the tightest correlation with the mineralization.
