CWP Global, a pioneer in renewable energy and green hydrogen project, is exploring Project Gwinya in western NL.
CWP's ultra-large-scale green hydrogen project in Newfoundland and Labrador has reached another milestone with the signing of an MoU with the Port of Corner Brook, to explore opportunities related to the 5 GW hub. The focus of project Gwinya will be a green HBI plant within the Port of Corner Brook, taking advantage of Newfoundland and Labrador's world-class wind resource to accelerate decarbonization of the global steel industry. As CWP's Business and Development Manager (Hydrogen) Steve Delaney emphasized: "We are committed to developing this project in continuous consultation with local communities, First Nations and other stakeholders, ensuring the project aligns with regional development goals and its benefits extend beyond the energy transition.” With the support of the Port, this transformative initiative is aimed to promote economic growth and environmental sustainability in the region, creating secondary industries, jobs and opportunities.
