We congratulate Geoffrey Hinton on achieving the Nobel prize for his work in #ArtificialIntelligence and the spotlight it casts on Canada as an #AI #innovation nation. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gbkyWD84 AI already has profound beneficial impacts on the economy and society by amplifying the value of human knowledge and human-generated data so far, not to mention generating new knowledge. And #AI will create even more value from the data generated by the physical world through the Digital-Physical transformation we are undergoing with the #InternetOfThings at the core – that is, through #AIoT, the fusion of #AI and #IoT. And fostering that growth through AIoT is our raison d'être as Canada's AIoT Industry Association. But we can’t let #AI application run amok to control us and our human agency. Mitigating this will require policy innovation around AI (and AIoT, IoT), which Geffrey Hinton is equally acknowledging that as a challenge – thank you. #DigitalTransformation #DigitalGovernance #gcdigital

The #InternetOfThings (#IoT) is an intimately physical endeavour requiring hardware to intertwine the physical and digital worlds in cyberspace. But that’s not all, to create value from that IoT digital-physical data #AI takes the front seat, also requiring and driving new AI-purposed compute hardware #innovation for the edge and the cloud. Further, #5G is crucial for moving and shuffling that digital-physical data among and between devices, edge, and cloud – not possible without hardware to provide the multilane bridges across the radio spectrum.
