We are thrilled to partner with BMO lawyers and Pro Bono Ontario to help bridge the justice gap and support those most in need.

Every Tuesday in July, lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright and BMO have dedicated their time, resources, and expertise to volunteering on the Pro Bono Ontario Free Legal Advice Hotline. Yesterday, we had an amazing in-person day hosted at Norton Rose Fulbright's offices in both Toronto and Ontario.   A huge thank you to Grace Pastine, KC, Richard Ha, and Jillian Zavitz for their help in organizing these days. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the leadership at Norton Rose Fulbright and BMO for their unwavering support. Finally, none of this would be possible without the incredible lawyers from NR and BMO who have volunteered their time and expertise this month to staff the Free Legal Advice Hotline. Last week the Weston legal team had the opportunity to volunteer with ProBono Ontario. Volunteering for ProBono has countless benefits!🤝 Not only does it provide invaluable support to individuals who may not have access to certain services, but it also strengthens our community promoting inclusivity and equality. Moreover, ProBono work helps bridge gaps that financial limitations may create. 🌉 The rewards don't stop at community growth. Personally, engaging in ProBono work offers an opportunity for skill enhancement, networking with like-minded peers, cultivating empathy, and experiencing a sense of accomplishment you won't find elsewhere. On Friday, I spent a meaningful and rewarding day volunteering with many of my Weston Group Legal colleagues on Pro Bono Ontario's Free Legal Advice Hotline - providing free legal advice to Ontarians that cannot afford a lawyer. If you are a licensed Ontario lawyer, I would highly encourage you to consider volunteering your time with the Hotline, as Pro Bono Ontario experiences an extremely high volume of calls and is always in need of more lawyer volunteers (especially employment lawyers!). Last Friday I, together with several other lawyers in the Weston Group legal departments, volunteered with PBO answering calls on their hotline. It was a rewarding experience being able to use my skills and knowledge to assist people whose access to legal services are challenging. There were non-stop calls from tenants seeking to understand their rights. #ProBonoOntario #AccessToJustice
