While in Whitehorse earlier this week, Ashley Ashton stopped by the site of the new Hyatt Place hotel. Located on Main Street between 6th Ave and Saloon Road, the Hyatt Place Whitehorse will open in 2025 and have 115 guest rooms with commercial spaces on the first floor. Engineered by MCW Group of Companies, and construction led by Ketza Construction Corp, this is the first wholly new hotel development in Northern Vision Development LP's 20 year history. We're proud to have partnered with the team at Duncan's Limited to supply three Patterson-Kelley Sonic 3,000,000 BTU Propane fired boilers, and two NILES STEEL TANK COMPANY 240 Gallon vertical storage tanks. Due to the cold climate in Whitehorse, Raven Supply will also be providing Security Chimneys International double wall AL29-4C venting with 2" of insulation on exterior sections. #whitehorse #partners #hyatt #propane #pattersonkelley #niles #securitychimneys #ravensupply #mcw #ketza #NVD

Reliable steam is required for many applications across our province, making modular boiler plants mandatory on many projects. The VSRT 30 HP boiler has <10m2 of heating surface area and can be operated in BC without a dedicated attendant. Under the current operator rules, safties are implemented to ensure that only one boiler will operate at any given time. In this case, Fulton provided a custom panel to ensure only one boiler can be powered at a time. A physical valve was also added to ensure that only one boiler can be opened to the steam header. When considering a steam boiler many factors come into consideration including: operator requirements, physical space, steam pressure, turn down, efficiencies, NOx levels, and more. The Fulton VSRT (Vertical Spiral Rib Tubless Steam Boiler) achieves industry-leading heat transfer rates. The unique spiral design provides a long heat transfer path which is optimized to achieve maximum heat transfer in a compact space and is available from 9.5 BHP to 250 BHP. Last week, Mehmet Burak Bozkurt and Ashley Ashton visited one of our Fulton customers, Tree Island Steel. Raven Supply provided two Fulton VMP-150 HP, high-pressure steam boilers, with <30 PPM emissions. Tree Island Steel manufactures various products including wire, over 400 types of nails, agricultural fencing, stucco reinforcement, and welded wire reinforcement. The boilers were installed and maintained by Neutron Factory Works Inc. #fulton #steam #boilers #manufacturing #process #highpressure #ravensupply

Why install a modular steam plant? For the foreseeable future, you’re not likely to hear the word boiler mentioned in regard to any design or installation meant to provide redundancy and cost savings without the words “modular” or “modular boiler plant” attached, as the modular systems approach to boiler design and deployment is now in full utilization across a wide range of industries. Fundamental to this realization, and as a first step in its discussion, is a definition of what is meant by each of these terms, provided below: • Modular boiler – Boiler that is linked to other boilers in series or parallel configuration so that each can provide a percentage of the total system load and act as backup to each other in real time and/or in the event of an emergency. Usually involves substituting a large size (traditional) boiler with a proportionally greater number of smaller boilers to achieve equal HP requirements. • Modular boiler plant – Fully engineered, piped, wired and tested modular boilers that are built on a common platform (skid) where they are fully integrated with all other ancillary equipment. This makes them self-contained, portable and pre-fabricated units, not unlike the new-style homes that are made from shipping containers (also called cargo container architecture). Ancillary equipment includes deaerator and surge tanks, feed water tanks, blow-down tanks, water treatment and chemical feed systems, and a system sequencing lead/lag control package. - C O M B U S T I O N - Efficiency is the main driver for building design today. In hot water systems, condensing heat exchanger technology is the new standard in facility installations. Much is known about the importance of reclaiming condensing flue gas heat before it is exhausted from the appliance, but how does the exchanger control the combustion to ensure the unit is condensing at an efficient rate? How does the unit know what is the correct mixing ratio to make the most efficient package? What controls need to be put in place to analyze the combustion so that the equipment can dynamically adjust to varying load conditions? The truth is, there is no one answer to these questions, but many variables in technology leading to the same solution. The key is to ensure that the appliance can maintain its air/ fuel balance, without introducing an excess of one or the other for the entire range of appliance turndown. This can be done in one of two general ways, mechanically or electronically. Each has its advantages, but it is important to understand their differences and come to the realization that though approaching the equation differently, are balancing it to achieve the same result. https://lnkd.in/gnGjWGiH Patterson-Kelley, Raven Supply #combustion #condensing #boilers #waterheaters #gas #whitepaper

Working with the team at Creative Energy to provide the Maxi-Therm | beyond steam steam to water heat exchanger package for the Butterfly, an iconic 56 storey tower in Vancouver, was an honour! The towers are connected to the Downtown Vancouver district energy plant, owned, operated and maintained by Creative Energy. This Maxi-therm Steam to Water Heat Exchanger System will provide clean, reliable, and affordable heating to the new LEED Gold, Revery Architecture Inc. designed tower and serve as an expansion node with up to 18MW of future capacity. This will enable our low-carbon district energy system to meet the needs of future residents in South Downtown and the West End neighborhoods. Thank you Creative Energy and FVB Energy Inc. for choosing to work with Raven Supply on such an incredible project! Thank you Daniel Forcier, for preforming start-up on this package. #steam #maxitherm #steamtowater #highpressure #vancouver #districtenergy #ravensupply
