🚀 We’re thrilled to share Bhagirathsinh Makavana’s inspiring story from Conestoga College! Through his remote internship with Exponential, facilitated by Riipen's Advance Ontario program, Bhagirathsinh applied his engineering and manufacturing knowledge to advance drone technology—gaining invaluable skills for his future career. 🌟 With support from Ontario's Colleges and Universities | Collèges et Universités, we’re helping students like Bhagirathsinh, especially those from underrepresented groups, turn their education into real-world experience. #ExperientialLearning #AdvanceOntario #DroneTechnology #Internships
October is #ManufacturingMonth, a time to celebrate workers and inspire Ontarians to pursue careers in manufacturing. That’s why we’re sharing the story of Bhagirathsinh Makavana, a Conestoga College student, who developed practical engineering skills and applied their manufacturing, aerodynamics and material science knowledge during their Riipen internship at Exponential. Working with industry experts, Bhagirathsinh helped design, build and test drones to improve their efficiency. Improving drone technology will help manufacturing, engineering and consumer electronics companies carry out their work more effectively, safely and sustainably. Ontario’s $2.7 million investment helped support approximately 1,000 Riipen internships, like this one, in 2023-24. These opportunities give students – especially those from under-represented groups – the hands-on experience needed to get in-demand jobs after graduation.
