Earlier this week our CEO presented the Collaborative Innovation Blueprint to members of the International Social Security Association You can view the recording at the link below 👇
🌐 I had the pleasure of representing the DOST Digital Innovations Center 🇦🇿 at the International Social Security Association Webinar roundtable on "Collaborative Innovation in Social Security". It was an informative discussion with fellow speakers Nick Scott, Gayathri Vadivel, and Hari Cahyono on successful partnerships between social security organizations, government departments, and public/private entities. Together, we explored how collaboration leads to innovative solutions, moderated by Luis Frota. Organizations require emergent structures, just as they require emergent strategies: start marginally, tentatively, and let experience take it from there. #ThinkingOnThursday #quote

How to develop continuous learners. The World Economic Forum predicts that 44% of core work skills will change by 2027. There's never been a time when it's more important to keep learning, relearning & unlearning. Yet it's hard to find the time/space to prioritise learning in a system under pressure & it takes courage to accept that we might be beginners, not experts, as we seek to find answers in novel situations. Many leaders are seeking to build "learning agility" or "learning systems". Research has identified four factors that matter most: 1) linking learning to purpose: the most important predictor of skill development - the sense that what we learn will make a difference motivates us to prioritise learning 2) creating a learning-rich work environment: opportunities for new or expanded roles, challenging projects, learning beyond our own function, leading change & improvement 3) asking "meta-learning" questions: being able to stand back & think about what we want to learn & how to improve our learning (and having a leader who encourages this) 4) nurturing a learning team: being in a diverse team that exchanges resources readily & gives & receives prompt feedback makes learning a powerful norm. https://lnkd.in/ezDkND6b. Via MIT Sloan Management Review. I paired this with a cartoon from Office Guy Cartoons: always link learning to purpose & real work!
We’re so proud of our Associate Kjeld Mizpah C. for having the courage to put his hat in the ring in his commmnity’s municipal election. A true leader. 👏👏👏
"This campaign was about more than just votes—it was about igniting conversations and laying the foundation for change. Though I may not hold the title of Mayor, I gained something far more valuable: the confidence to build my own table." Although my bid for Mayor of West Hants Regional Municipality has ended, this journey has shown me the power of representation, visibility, and listening deeply to the needs of our communities. Throughout the campaign, I witnessed the beginning of a movement—a call for reimagining governance, fostering collaboration, and empowering regional municipalities to shape their futures. The work isn't over; it's only just beginning. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this campaign. I look forward to sharing this next chapter as we work together to create sustainable futures for generations to come.
Next week, our CEO Nick Scott will be sharing a Blueprint for Collaborative Innovation and discussing Collaborative Leadership at the ISSA Webinar for innovation in social security
