From their career journeys—starting in entry-level roles to leading top brands—to topics of #innovation, #sustainability, adapting #AI for business growth, and #buildingtrust with #customers and teams they offered valuable insights on driving success, staying resilient, and doing what’s right. The audience left with fresh takeaways on navigating change, fostering strong connections, and leading with vision and purpose. Stay tuned for more dynamic events like this. Did you know that 235,000 people across Canada are homeless each year? That’s more than the entire population of Windsor, ON, or Burnaby, BC.    Today, on World Homeless Day, join us virtually for a special Spotlight session in partnership with MAP from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., exploring solutions to prevent and end chronic homelessness.    Staples and MAP, through our partnership on Even the Odds, share a commitment to helping build and grow communities through real-world solutions so that everyone has the chance to thrive. In this session, MAP Director Dr. Stephen Hwang and MAP researchers Dr. Naomi Thulien and Mardi Daley will explore: ·      What the research shows: what works and doesn’t work to help people get housed, stay housed, and regain their health and well-being  ·      MAP’s response: evidence-based solutions that disrupt cycles of socioeconomic exclusion and poor health  ·      Even the Odds’ impact: How your support has driven innovation such as the Navigator Program and the Transitioning Youth Out of Homelessness Program At Staples, we are proud to support initiatives with MAP, like today’s Spotlight session, that support the equity pillar of our Community and Sustainability approach: equity, environment, and education. Join today’s session virtually: https://lnkd.in/g3K7Ng6h

At Staples, we aim to foster a sense of belonging and community and recognize the role we all have to play in understanding Indigenous Peoples’ history in Canada. Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we acknowledge our shared history, seek a path of healing and reflect on the opportunities we have had to learn and grow.   Opportunities to connect virtually and in person are vital to our continued growth as the Working and Learning Company. On Sept 24, we had the honour of welcoming Dr. Imelda Perley, (Opolahsomuwehs), Elder/ Wolastoqew (Maliseet) from the Tobique First Nation, St. Mary’s First Nation and Houlton Band of Maliseets, for an informative virtual discussion, exclusively for our associates. Dr. Perley is a language advocate and co-founder of the Wolastoq Language and Culture Center and elder-in-residence at the University of New Brunswick. In honour of Dr. Perley joining us, Staples has made a donation to the Orange Shirt Society   Dr. Perley also joined us and led the ceremony at the launch of our Staples/MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions Even the Odds Healthbox program in Tobique (Neqotkuk) First Nation, New Brunswick. Healthboxes are ‘smart’ vending machines that can be stocked with whatever people need to be healthy and safe, without barriers or judgement.   Check out our video about the Neqotkuk launch and this important MAP program to improve access to care, proudly funded by Staples Canada in the maritime provinces by Even the Odds.

At Staples, we believe we have a shared responsibility to sustain the planet for future generations as part of our Community and Sustainability mandate. This year marks the 16th year of our partnership with Tree Canada / Arbres Canada, and we are proud to work with this industry-leading, innovative partner who inspires us to work toward a greener future. In honour of National Tree Day, we’re celebrating our long-standing partnership with Tree Canada - a part of our 20-year dedication to being planet-passionate and supporting meaningful change in the communities in which we live and work to provide solutions that protect our natural resources and our planet. We are proud to say that over the course of our partnership with Tree Canada, we have planted close to 250,000 trees in underserved communities, supported numerous community greening projects, recovered areas hit by disasters, and helped grow a better place to live for Canadians across the country. At Staples, we strive to live our three key Community and Sustainability pillars: equity, environment, and education. Through our partnership with MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions on Even the Odds, we are proud to support our equity pillar – helping to build and grow communities through real-world solutions so that everyone has the chance to thrive.  Last week, we held our third annual Even the Odds Golf Tournament at Angus Glen Golf Club. This event brings our partners together to raise awareness and funding for MAP’s research across the country.  With the support of our vendors, partners, volunteers, and associates, we were thrilled to raise $1 million for the life-changing work of Even the Odds. These vital funds will go to support Even the Odds research and programs across the country, including:  • APPLE Schools: An award-winning health promotion project for elementary students in underserved communities (Alberta & Ontario)  • Our Healthbox: “Smart” vending machines that dispense free health supplies in areas that need them, including HIV self-tests and naloxone (Atlantic Provinces)  • Navigator: An outreach program that helps patients who are homeless recover after hospitalization by connecting them with health care and social services in the community (British Columbia & Quebec)  • Prenatal Testing Outreach: Culturally appropriate rapid testing and treatment programs in remote First Nations communities (Manitoba & Saskatchewan) You can learn more about our Community and Sustainability approach, our partnership with MAP and our Even the Odds initiative by reading our 2023 Community Impact + Sustainability Report at https://lnkd.in/g-PWA3b7 or visiting https://lnkd.in/gjZfHGfV

🚀 Last week, Staples Canada had the privilege of attending the RE/MAX Annual Conference in Toronto, where we connected with an engaged audience of around 500 Agents, Realtors and Real Estate Professionals. This conference provided a fantastic platform for networking and collaboration, allowing us to showcase our innovative printing solutions and highlight the diverse range of products and services in the Staples Canada, with the Print division portfolio. Our team enjoyed engaging conversations about the future of printing technology and how our offerings can meet the evolving needs of businesses. We also shared insights on sustainability practices in printing, a crucial aspect of our mission. A huge thank you to our amazing team: Natalie Haddrell, Aaron Foster and Mike Van Schaik for the smiles and nice chat to everyone who stopped by our booth! We look forward to forging new partnerships and driving innovation together. Let’s continue the conversation—feel free to reach out! #staplescanada #staplesprint #print #remax #remaxcanada
