This is a great step moving forward! Canadian content lends credibility and relevance to an already amazing program. Well Done Jamie. Thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into this project.
This post is a little delayed but I am happy to announce I have been appointed as the Authorized Corporate Representative of PPCT Management Systems of Canada. This will mean all PPCT courses held in Canada will have course materials printed and shipped from within Canada. This will help with costs and delivery times. The PPCT Threat Pattern Recognition Course has received accreditation within Alberta from the Public Security Peace Officer Program and Training Academy which includes all new Canadian Content. We will be working on the accreditation for SHARP, Ground Control and Edged Weapon courses this fall. We will be focusing on getting all current PPCT TPR instructors updated on the new Canadian content and approved to teach the accredited course. Stay tuned for more updates and training dates in the near future. Jamie Erickson TPR Instructor Trainer PPCT Canada Corporate Representative

Have you ever experienced a terribly rude person in a customer service role? How long did you hang on to that memory? Do you think, if you asked that rude customer service person if they thought they were being ‘profession’, they would say yes? So what matters more? What you think about your professionalism? Or what someone else thing about it? Which one of these eventually becomes your ‘reality’?
How do you view professionalism? “To generate voluntary compliance is the essence of professionalism.” - Dr. George J. Thompson, Ph.D #verbaljudo #verbaljudoinstitute #verbaljudonation #deescalation #deescalationtraining #communicationtips #communication #communicationiskey #safetyfirst #safety #worldwide #criticalthinking #lawenforcement #healthcare #business #resorts #placesofworship #911dispatcher #education #leadership #livewebinar #inperson #oneonone

Knowing ‘what’ to say under stress and knowing that it will resonate ‘universally’ is a powerful tool for any enforcement, regulatory or supervisory role….
Do you ever find yourself feeling misunderstood, or helpless in an encounter at work or at home? If so, consider using our 5 Universal Truths and 5-Step in such a way, and in such a manner, that you dignify and respect your contact in a different light then you ever have before! Our founder, Dr. George J. Thompson, PhD made our lives exponentially easier and more efficient when he decided to stop looking at how we are different, and focus in on how we are the same. Take a minute to think about that. Look at the below charts, and you tell us, do you want to be treated with Dignity and Respect? Do you want to be asked to do something rather than being told to do it, at work or at home? Do you want to be told WHY you are being asked to do something? Do you want to be given options rather than threats? And finally, when you make a mistake, do you want a second chance to do things right? If so, then why not interact this way to your current client, customer, contact, supervisor, and even your family at home? Use our 5-Step to begin implementing this into your daily vocabulary. Verbal Judo is a learned art. Start today! #verbaljudo #verbaljudoinstitute #verbaljudonation #deescalation #deescalationtraining #communicationtips #communication #communicationiskey #safetyfirst #safety #worldwide #criticalthinking #lawenforcement #healthcare #business #resorts #placesofworship #911dispatcher #education #leadership #livewebinar #inperson #oneonone

Otherwise known as the ‘flash bang’ principal. Once you’ve established preclusion, and no voluntary compliance is forthcoming? The need to change the narrative and get ahead of the violence curve is critical for EVERYONES safety. Excellent timing and technique on the part of the officer!
"I wouldn't have done that." - Said Everyone That's what some people are thinking. The officer's actions were based on his perception that lead up to him responding to this call, engaging the subject, and neutralizing the threat. I don't have the background on this call but all I can say is, someone knows how to wrastle things bigger than him. Range management and distraction strikes work. It happened fast and you can see it's effectiveness. The rest was clinch and control with overwhelming speed and assertiveness. What do you all think? #police #lawenforcement #defensivetactics
